  1. I’ve met Zac. In the fitters defence, Zac looks like he was one bad break away from unloading milk crates at a dairy processing plant in Brandon Manitoba… Can confirm the God-like short game.
  2. So if I skip it off a pond, it hits a rock bounces across a bridge back into the fairway, but goes into a divot. Should I get free relief because after all if you’ve “hit a perfect shot into the fairway”, you shouldn’t be penalized?
  3. Agreed. Giving a Headstart of any kind to the guy who is already the best player of the year up to that point goes against everything that sport is supposed to be.
  4. Not sure about Majors. 7 maybe? I kind of feel like in the modern era we have (for best career): Tiger Phil Rory VJ Keopka (maybe) Scotty I think he’ll finish ahead of Rory when all is said and done. Maybe ahead of Phil in majors though It’s tough to imagine him winning 45 tour events. Scotty basically has to have Dustin Johnson’s entire career starting now to leap-frog Rory. And that’s assuming Rory doesn’t add to his.
  5. Playing in any PGA Tour event adds credibility to anyone. Seems like a huge lost opportunity to me no matter how you look at it. He could’ve documented it and done all kinds of videos from his hotel room, talking about the tournament and how he felt, where his mental space was and what the experience was like. I actually would’ve liked to have heard about that. Absolutely crazy to me that an “influencer“ would not recognize this as an opportunity to enhance his brand. Just my opinion…
  6. Two wins, a fourth, and a seventh in the majors is crazy work! Zero missed cuts this season. 50% top five in all events Add the fact that he’s likely going to finish with at least one more win and likely top three in the FedEx cup if not a win there too and it becomes one of the best seasons in the last 20 years. Rory basically has to win all of the playoff events and the FedEx cup and Scotty has to finish in the bottom 10% of all of those tournaments to even have a discussion. Remember last year when Xander won two majors and didn’t get player of the year? It was basically because Scotty won eight tournaments, including a major and the players. Rory has won a major and The Players so he basically has to dominate in the playoffs and the FedEx cup. And by dominate, I mean, win everything.
  7. To be fair, totally anecdotal example. But it was impressive to see her hit driver 280-300 12 times. She got 6 strokes off the other junior, she shot 71, and they tied! lol! Not many 40-60 year old scratch ams would have a “length advantage” on her. 😉
  8. Played with one of the longest hitting div one amateur women in the country today. She goes to Texas San Antonio full scholarship. Swing speed is just under 115 average. I’ve played hundreds of professional and amateur tournaments in my life and I have yet to see any woman hit as far as her… We played from 7200 yards rated 74.5/140 and she made six birdies and shot two under. I’m currently +.3. Got smoked shooting 74. third person in our group is the number one ranked male junior in Western Canada. He made a total of zero putts over 7 feet and shot 65. He’s a +8.5. Cruises at 126 mph. im out of my depth in this group… 😐🤣
  9. I’ve played with OBee a ton of times in Southern California. Maybe 50 times now. The one club where he is a member is Bear Creek. Over the years, it has had multiple PGA winners as members. Off the top of my head, Rickie Fowler, Phil Mickelson, Tom pernice Junior. Probably 15 guys on the korn ferry tour. multiple Southern California amateur champions, and mid champions. One amateur champion that’s qualified for the US senior open multiple times. Point being, OBee has been around high-level golf for a long time. The matches that he has are often interesting reads because of the way he details them. Now whether or not you believe that high-level amateurs can compete against pros is your opinion, but you can’t deny that there’s been some good discussion in both of these threads.
  10. Why is it dumber? Lots of interest in this thread when it came out. Lots of good discussion. Interesting look into a real life Match between amateurs and professionals. I get that you and OBee are going at it a little bit but there’s nothing inherently dumb about either thread.
  11. Checking in. .. Is the answer still the same? So ability ranges overlap with smaller sample sizes more often and overlap less with larger sample sizes less often? Scratch can occasionally shoot two under the course rating while a +5 can occasionally shoot five over the course rating? Yet over multiple four day tournaments statistically, the +5 will come out on top? As you were…👌💪👍
