These videos with tour players enhance the tour and they don’t need to pay a dime It’s a win win for the tour In this case, it made no sense to let him bring in his own crew to film, actual event footage and run it on his channel But letting the players appear in his videos because they actually want to and show their personalities and share golf tips and stories with viewers definitely is a good thing for the tour And the content doesn’t compete with the tours. It’s alternative content that viewers actually seek out.

This is not what they should do at all. Its the independent creativity that resonates with their followers “Corporate” produced content has corporate guidelines and inevitably a corporate feel. Just partner with the best, most original producers that add value to the tour

Start with the content. Let’s take a pga tour event. It can be watched on tv or streamed. Or highlights can be watched on YouTube. How does Horvat or any influencer increase viewership of this content? His viewers watch his content. They go seek it out right? They can watch pga tour events, and his followers either do or don’t watch on tv or the network streams.

Leverage to do what? To bring in a crew to film him on the course playing in a PGA tour event? And then post the footage on his channel? 🤣 How does the tour benefit from that? We see clearly that Bryson gets a lot of YouTube views but it doesn’t translate to 📺 ratings for his events.

These leagues are controlling the distribution of actual “game film”. And then letting them film their own experiences attending. They aren’t letting an influencer run around the sidelines with a crew following Mahomie around with carte blanche to then distribute game film on their YouTube channels.

The PGA Tour has supported YouTube golf and social media influencers in the game with several tournaments streamed online and played at tournament site of PGA Tour events, including an event Horvat won this year at TPC Sawgrass ahead of The Players Championship in March. Since that event, part of the Creator Classic series, wasn't an official PGA Tour event, the creators were allowed to and encouraged to film individual content around their participation in the event. Exactly, if LIV wants to control the talent at the bottom of the pipeline they need to control the talent at the top funnel They need a KFT and a real process for players to play up and/or churn out. They need to replicate the entire pga tour system That could force the pga tours hand. But it would create a ton of backlash to put the pga tour out of business Best to make a deal, I think the best compromise is to let PIF/Aramco have 3-4 high profile events where all the best players tee it up. And PIF comprises by letting LIV die out in its present form.
