Bridgend is the local medium size town. Swansea is a larger town but much further round the coast after Port Talbot which is also quite big and has a big steel works. Swansea to Porthcawl is 20 miles by road.

I grew up in Bridgend, the nearest larger town. Porthcawl was the "posh" seaside town where my parents used to go for functions, dinners and that kind of thing. But it also had a funfair and a caravan park - a bit of everything. The golf course was for the "posh" people - professionals and such. plus the proper golf players. Nobody well known I can think of. But a pretty part of the world.

Hey - high St. Kensington is where I live! But my old school chums were all Welsh, which is where I grew up. So in my case we had about 5x Davies and 3x Evans and 3x Jones in the class. No toff names I can remember.

But is it just the putter? She's been missing short putts and this looks more like pure miscalculation. Like she hasn't got it right in her head, not her hands.

Well...Lydia is HoF and like Inbee Park she could turn it on and win at almost any point in her career. Nelly hasn't quite proved that yet, but I think most here expect more than a few wins out of her. Sadly the recent number 1s that have declined include Ariya Jutanugarn, Jin Young Ko, Sung Hyun Park and no doubt others I've forgotten. And yet others like Amy Yang and Celine Boutier still turn up for the occasional win. Brooke has been quiet recently. Putting can improve - Minjee Lee has proved that this season.

I'm excited by Lottie!! What's her future? It looks very bright indeed if she keeps this up. A good finish - no slacking off. Wow!

It's not happening for Nelly this season so far. But it might start happening in the latter part of the year maybe - she's solid quality as we all know. It looks like she realises that her putting is letting her down, for a start. She's not far out but the balls aren't dropping. So what do you think - a decline or a temporary glitch?

Go, Lottie, Go!!! Don't lose your nerve. I want to see a British winner at last! It's been a while.....

Round of -8 from Angel Yin. She really is one of the stand-out US players. Sadly she doesn't get the social media coverage other US players get, but she certainly deserves it.

Who is better than Jeeno this season? Certainly not Nelly so far......
