  1. For a fall/winter carry where you might need to pack a layer or rain gear from time to time, and if you're using 14-clubs, I think the Sunday will be too small. I think the Player Air is the better Vessel alternative for a carry bag under those circumstances.
  2. I got a Topo Designs 30L travel backpack last Christmas and really like it. Main compartment fully unzips and opens like a suitcase, but the 30L is still small enough to fit under an airplane seat. So now on trips where I might have needed to check a suitcase, I can pack quite a bit in the Topo and then just bring a smaller carryon suitcase for the rest. I'd pick up one of their smaller packs in a heartbeat if I needed a commuter option.
  3. If L Catterton is indeed the purchaser this might not be the end of the world that some of you are worried about. They're a little bit of a different animal from the corporate/tech private equity raiders you might be used to. They're partnered with LVMH - so that's Louis Vuitton and Tag Heuer, among others - and their individual consumer investments are some other noteworthy brands like West Marine and Boll & Branch. A lot of their portfolio appears to be well regarded, well run, luxury brands. So hopefully this is just them dipping their toe in the golf world and the results will be good.
  4. I think the "I am a Tour caliber player that's chosen to make a living on YouTube instead" is a more powerful narrative for him than "I've been proven to not be a Tour caliber player". For the same reason, losing to Joe Pavelski or John Smoltz in the American Century wouldn't really be a smart move for him, even if he's getting to rub elbows with Steph Curry and Josh Allen. Respect where respect is due - he's a leader in a wholly new frontier of the golf industry, and he's undoubtedly helping to grow the game.
  5. He's got smart agents/managers I think. Getting cut at an alternate PGA Tour event with a second rate field would hurt his brand much more than it would help. Instead, manufacture a controversy over media to get in the golf news and perhaps get a few more folks who follow golf to check him out on YT. I think you could do a college level business course on the influencer/content creator financial model.
  6. I stuck the 5h Sim 2 Max in the bag earlier this summer and haven't looked back. Gaps are almost perfect now, with the 5-wood at 18*, the 4h at 22*, 5h at 25* and then the P790 6-iron at 26.5*. Really the only concern right now is I don't have much that I can use to hit a really low shot - I've got a 2-iron that I might try alternating in with the 5-wood. Added benefit for me is that, since I play my irons an inch long and a degree upright, the standard length and lie angles on the TaylorMade hybrids means I can play them stock and they blend seamlessly.
  7. I can tell I'm getting old because checking Trackman data and being on pressure plates as an absolute beginner seems like lunacy.
