Usually 2 or 3 glove rotation. So awful lately i have been forced to put on the right hand rain glove too.

Surprised to see the media darling Hojgaards out/on the fedex bubble. The way they get fawned over i guessed they were much higher.

Way, way exaggerated. It's a ceremonial position. These guys ride around and look busy wearing ear pieces. It's laughable. The Captain could actually be important this year... if he plays matches.

Walker cup cup is a concern for the players, their friends and family, and maybe some usga bluebloods. Pretty much nobody else in the US, even rabid golf fans, knows anything about it.

Joel Dahmen swinging for the fences in round one. Needs that home run to make top 70

Japanese invasion so far. And at least for 1 round Alex Pano has remembered how to play golf. Been a rough year for her.

Agree. 7 is an anomaly but so is zero for someone that won 7 last year.

Preparing haggis or tossing his caber. Ok, I'm out of Scottish stereotypes.

Taking a #1 on the golf course (was disciplined)

If there is a real bathroom, i use it. Most places i play have portable toiltets sitting in 95 heat. 👽 Zero chance I'm going inside one of those. Some exposed courses you gotta plan a little but most courses have plenty of places to discreetly take a leak. -
Also, playing Wales likely precludes any really bad weather I presume.

Observation from afar with no data analysis..I'd guess Nelly is losing the spot rather the Jeeno doing much notable to move up. Not that she's played poorly but both are slacking and Nelly is slacking more.

Courses run by management companies or pga of America ?

But my question is can you be a PGA member and NOT be an instructor? Do they represent/advocate for anyone besides guys/gals that teach golf? -

Thanks. I'm not in the industry, nor contemplating it, but was just curious about what they do, for who, and why. And I'm still baffled. Just to be a PGA "Associate" you have to pass a PAT??? Isn't this different than being a PGA "Pro" who teaches golf and that sort of thing? I guess as other seem to think, working at a golf course is not exactly brain surgery. -
Literally half of the us team finished in the top 10 at the Open Championship. Didn't they?

10x from what? 5 bucks?

As noted by others YT golf is not comparable to tournament golf. If it were, fat perez or the Bryans would have a tv show on from 3-6 on Sunday. How would that do, lol? And i may not be able to cite the winner of tournament X without looking it up, but that player is forever a PGATour winner.

In the last 14 mos, Xander has won 2 majors.

Can you join the PGA of America as a dues paying person who works in the golf industry? Or can you only be a member of you go through whatever certification process exists for "golf professionals " as they define it? -
Course setup has been pretty widely discussed. Expect the rough to be mowed down to accommodate the US long game.

Been a weird summer. June was hot in much of the west, midwest, and midAtl. Cool-ish in the center. July, we'll see the stats in a few days but the Mid Atl has remained nastier than normal it seems to me. SE has been rough too I think. Not sure about everyone else.

I'm going the other way. On the cold side, anything playable is fine. 30s, whatever so long as the course is playable. Heat is starting to bother me and not so much the heat but the sun. If golf were in the shade, fine, I can do any temp. I ride more as the temp approaches 100 but its really the sun intensity I have trouble with. My comfort zone has shifted a bit toward the cold I guess but neither extreme is much fun.

But the golf has to mean something. They have to be playing a legitimate competition for something. Something besides the top monetary amount on offer. Winning a liv tournament is winning nothing besides a pile of cash slightly bigger than the other guys pile of cash. There is no value beyond that in a liv win, or a "match" win, or a TGL win even. Beating 5 or 6 other guys and a bunch of useless filler at JCB is not any accomplishment of note that will be remembered by anyone.

He's always been hit or miss in majors but his overall record this year is rather stellar. In both full field and sig events. His OWGR is pretty well earned imo.
