  1. Ya fair enough and just checking that it’s assumed when playing 36 you play the second course at each site rather than a second round at the main course? also any opinions about 36 at portrush vs adding portstewart for the pm
  2. Would folks rather play 36 at RCD or Portrush? Subsequent travel from those places is pretty similar after the rounds but would prob only do 36 at one
  3. By definition it basically has to. These PE firms are bloodsucking leeches who add no value and merely extract.
  4. Just when I start meshing with the BPs they gotta release something new and shiny
  5. So you’ve measured this outside too? I could see a mat where the ball is sitting up making DoD easier than it is on real firm turf. Clearly a mechanics problem if true
  6. I230 prob half a step more forgiving though I think relative to their looks , the BP-S are effectively more forgiving. i230 are kinda shovely whereas the BP-S are pretty thin and small
  7. I swing around 120 MPH, hit the ball ok and have never really felt the shaft load. I really don’t think a shaft profile is going to affect someone’s mechanics. It *may* feel different to them ( to me it absolutely does not) but think the mechanics themselves will be largely unchanged. this feels a lot like the mythical 10 handicapper who hits 14 greens a round and doesn’t know how to putt. I think if you gave most scratch golfers a starter set from a sporting goods store their results aren’t going to be tremendously different and their swings certainly won’t change
  8. My hot take as a + handicap is that clubfitting is pretty dramatically overrated for vast majority of golfers, even good ones. if you’re 6’5 with uber short arms or etc, ok ya I can see it. But if you’re an average ish size guy let’s say 5’8 - 6’1 with relatively normal proportions think largely not significant and infinitely less important than lessons/improving your swing. feel like people just in general blame their flaws on equipment. I have been fit at major OEMs headquarters and don’t really think the results were any different after with the new clubs. if you’re already taking lessons regularly , doing good stuff in the gym and practicing multiple times a week, then I think I would rec fitting just to make sure not missing anything there but I would say it’s generally much less important than either of the prior 3 things. good things generally happen when you hit ball in the center of the face with the face generally pointing somewhere near the target
  9. I’m not really saying it costs too much and I have no idea the financial situation of OP. For all I know 5K is a drop in the bucket for him/her. More so the concept of we are spending X dollars, how would we most efficiently structure that to get most results
  10. Id prob rather do the 5k half day, which also includes the 1 year of membership (which in reality I’d prob value closer to 0, it’s not like it costs them anything to provide this). idk if the goal is to get a good as possible, I’d rather just have my own focused thing. Peoples personalities vary so one of the other folks could be a distraction or hog a disproportionate amount of time. If you’re paying 5k for golf lessons a couple hundred dollar hotel room is basically a rounding error/nothing to be concerned about IMO. or just do the gears guy for $250/hr who is going to share prob 99.9% the same info for way less money
  11. What would 1 on 1 stuff with them cost? IMO you can only change so much in a short time, so for a similar amount of money if possible I’d prob rather do a whole day of 1 on 1 ( or I guess 1 on 2 since they are a pair). or even a couple 2 hr lessons spread out over a couple months. IMO the marginal utility of additional lesson time falls off pretty significantly after 2-3 hours. The main benefit is more supervised practice making sure you are actually working on what they want you to work on. I just wouldn’t assume that 16 hours of lessons or etc means you’re going to make the change 4 times sooner/easier than 4 hours of lessons or etc.
