  1. The Open >>> The Masters. Scheffler >>> McIlroy this year.
  2. Feel free to republish the table - obviously @T308 has gone back a lot further than me so we have a wealth of info here now.
  3. I think that is spot on - a NOS head which they shafted later. The OG shaft would have been a standard Mr Ping black/red band one anyway which is nothing special. I agree that the nickels feel nice, just a tad denser than SS as you say. I love the feel of my J-Blade 3 BeNi.
  4. Always nice to find a nickel Ping, and a NOS even moreso! Strangely for a 90s putter it seems to have a very modern shaft with the stroke fitting on it?
  5. As a Ping putter collector for many years I have never seen this particular misprint. Interesting. I would highly doubt that it adds value to the putter, sadly - steel Pal 4s just don't have any collectability.
  6. I thought this was a pretty poor effort. Loads of hyperbole from the inevitable talking heads and not enough footage of golf shots (almost none from Cink, bizarrely -for example, he missed a really short putt near the end). It wouldn't have been as bad if I didn't have to look at Chamblee (with a bloodshot stye in one of his eyes), Rich Lerner and their buddies relaxing in smart-casual chino gear in a lounge more than, you know, the 2009 Open being played out. I had to fast forward some of it. They also had Zinger quoting his own commentary before immediately showing the clip. There was no mention or footage of Westwood (who had a long putt to win on the last and missed a putt for the playoff) or the fact that Ross Fisher had a three shot lead in the final round when Watson had a rough start - a big part of the story of the last day. They had the Cink v Watson story to tell, and boy did they stick to it. (Cink, unsurprisingly, came across as a nice guy). 3/10, could do much better.
  7. Hahaha, I agree that it doesn't look neat in a lineup but I find it really helpful to have different lengths to switch to now and again. Also as someone who buys collectibles, you just grab whatever length is going when one comes up 😉
  8. That's a very strong reason to bin Renaissance in my opinion (although like you said, I think it's going to be there for a while yet). If the SO has to be on a modern pseudo-links then Castle Stuart aka Cabot Highlands would be a much better choice. Or get negotiating with Royal Aberdeen, Nairn, Western Gailes (probably no chance), etc.
  9. It was good ol' Ken Brown, known for his quirky turns of phrase.
  10. Scottie Scheffler screams at his own ball in frustration as The Open preparation takes hit | talkSPORT "Like a St Bernard on a merry-go-round, doesn't quite know what's going on"
