  1. I'm glad I read through all the messages before replying because I was going to suggest the same thing, though I haven't had to try it on a colored golf polo. Definitely worked on my brightly colored cycling jerseys. Thank goodness no pictures of me in full cycling garb exist. LOL.
  2. I've never really been much of a driving range person. Even when there was an all-grass range about 10 miles away, I'd go there *maybe* 5 times-a-year. That closed 7 or 8 years ago, so now I'm even less inclined to go to the range even though there's always been one with mats less than 5 minutes away. When I do go there, it's usually just to reassure myself that the lie angles on my irons are set correctly, so I get a small bucket of balls and do the dry erase marker test. Typically, I do this only with new iron sets since I order/bend them 2 degrees upright and while I trust my ability to use my golf club gauge properly, I like practical visual reinforcement. Also, I freely admit, when I used to go to the range, I was one of those types that would mindlessly hit ball after ball. Yes, I'd change clubs in a set manner - PW, 8, 6, hybrid, 9, 7, 5, 5w, 3w, Driver - but it was basically hit-hit-hit.
  3. No golf today. I just heard the mail carrier drop off my package of graphite shaft butt weights, so I will be able to finish installing the grips on the SteelFiber i95's that I put in my Takomo 201's after removing the Axiom 105's from them last week. I went with the parallel (.370) tip as opposed to the taper (.355) that I've been playing in my NewLevel 902 PD's. After installing the grips an re-checking swingweights, it'll be time to check the lie angles and lofts and adjust as needed. Thankfully, I won't be roasting in the garage.

  5. Our city's muni had a par 3 with power wires overhead where you had to re-tee if you hit one. I played at least a hundred rounds there and did it twice. Made a God-awful and rather scary sound when it happened, too. Alas, that course no longer exists thanks to the 49ers...and a majority of our city's voters. Played down in Gilroy today to celebrate the Bday of one of our "crew". We had match play with 2 teams of 4. I was cruising along at +8 thru 16 holes, but had a complete lapse of concentration and finished triple-triple. I blame it on having already locked down the match 7-and-5. That triple-triple finish didn't even feature any topped shots, 3-jacks, or shots into penalty areas or out of bunkers. That makes it feel even more embarrassing. Well, at least I did manage to play the entire round with the same ball, which is a very rare thing for me. This is what we had to celebrate the Bday on the course - a mini cupcake sitting in a pool of Crown Royal Peach. My quote was, "On the list of dumb things to do, this takes the (cup)cake". To say it wasn't a good pairing is an understatement. 😂
  6. Yes, particularly since we didn't have time to eat there either before or after the round.
  7. I need to get back to Carne if for no other reason than to get a logo ball and a pencil. Haha.
  8. I guess maybe I should actually watch some of the Open since I've had the honor of playing there. Great, now I'm thinking of the chicken salad sandwich and Magner's Irish Cider. Oh, and our hilarious forecaddie. T20 / T1 / T10 / T45 / T6 (KJ Choi is one stroke off from DFL.)
  9. Played a 2-man best ball today at a course at which I don't think I've ever broken 90. It's not that it's overly difficult - I just don't play well there. Started out +6 through 3 and thought it was another 90+ round, but came up just short of another Ray-Ray round. 45-36/81 (80 adjusted for an 8.8 differential) and that even-par back-9 featured 4 birdies. I'm not actually sure if I've ever had 4 birdies on a 9. As usual, it could've been better if not for the 2 par-3's where I hit 9i's - both times I hit pull-draws. On one, it bounced even farther left onto the next tee box where I was completely blocked by trees and got too cute and ended up with a 6. On the other, I got the first part right by successfully chipping over a bunker, but then 3-jacked from 15 feet for a 5. The biggest highlight was nearly driving the 300-yd par-4 15th (pic below). I was about a yard short of the left greenside bunker and chipped over it to tap-in distance for one of the birdies. We finished -5 net. Unfortunately, my partner had the same net score on both of the aforementioned par-3's which didn't help us. He had a really bad day overall.
  10. What a finish, indeed. I was watching before going to play 18 this morning and was almost late because there was no way I was going to leave without see the finish of the playoff. I was pulling for Jeeno, but Grace's eagle-birdie-eagle was amazing!
  11. The "club" I'm part of uses Golf Genius for all their tournaments. I like the live scoring as well, though we're almost always in one of the first groups out, so I don't typically look at the leaderboards until we've finished 18. I'm also not usually the person entering the scores, so I don't have the app open most of the time. I usually have the GHIN GPS app open.
