  1. Didn’t they have a ton of backspin? Perhaps just loft up to 12* or 13* in your forgiving driver of choice.
  2. Does anyone know how the DG Mid 115 compare?
  3. I went thriver. Love that thing. Epic Speed 12* at 13*. Swapped the 5 gram weight for an 18 gram weight. Main driver is an Epic Speed 10.5 at 9.5. I like that the heads match.
  4. What are your current irons? Most irons 8-PW should provide a reasonable amount of stopping power. If it’s still not enough, look to a ball with more spin. Kirkland is a good option if you’re on a budget.
  5. I’m in South Florida which can be pretty windy. I just club up like any other club. If a 7 wood is gonna get chewed up in the wind I’ll hit a 5 wood. Same with 9, I’ll hit a 7 or 5 wood. I do have some steel shafted hybrids that cut through the wind nicely, but the woods are just straighter and less hooky so clubbing up is a good way to go.
  6. Jumbomax ultralite I blow on with air but need some masking tape underneath to keep from twisting. zenlite I have installed on shaft no masking tape with mixed results. Masking tape helps keep the grip in place but can still blow off to save grip. Jumbomax with regular grip tape, I have not been able to blow off.
  7. Tried it. Got some bonkers number that can’t be right 🤷‍♂️
  8. Can’t understand why this wouldn’t work just fine. As long as there is not crazy lens distortion it should be really simple for a computer to calculate the angle of the groove and shaft. I need to go compare my PGATSS numbers to chat gpt #.
  9. Currently a 10.3 HC trending down. I usually play Maxfli tour. Picked up a box of Maxfli straight-fli balls because I was making some grip change/swing changes and didn’t know where the ball was gonna go. These are rocks that don’t spin on pitches or chips. Ended up shooting a personal best 6 over 77. I do find I putt well with that ball, distance control is good. For short game I just allow for more roll out. Any wedge 1/2 swing and up will stop. Full swings can still spin back. Also been playing receptive greens. If I was playing really hard and fast greens I might have trouble with that ball. For the average guy such as myself playing the average course, most any ball will work. More importantly, just play the same ball so you can know what it will do.
  10. Couldn’t help myself. Ordered a set of 7-PW 1.5 strong red dot G430 irons with DG Mid 115 S300. Let’s see how it gaps off a 25.5 9 wood. At $128.50 a club, can’t see myself losing too much money on these.
