Just to revive an older topic, wanted to add my 2 cents. I have been using my UW 19 and 21 for two solid years. Unfortunately, this year the shaft was getting to soft and light. Ive tried so many combinations and so many were draw bias. I stumbled upon this is a why not try it, the head size looked similar to my UW models. I am using a Tensei Black 85 shaft (using 3 hybrid shaft for 4, and 4 hybrid shaft for 5) because these models are 1/2" longer shafts. Swingweight to D4 on both models that I love. I did take my 23 degree 5H up to 25 degrees for gapping and flattened the lie angle. These give me an amazing flight with maybe a couple yard tight push draw. They are so easy to launch but not overly spinny. Get them on clearance while you still can and insert shaft of your choice but make sure you know the +1/2" in length.

The srixons feel way more solid but don’t work well on thin strikes. I also hit the 8 iron quite a bit and it also didn’t have the solid feel I was hoping for. Even though it’s a players distance iron it spun appropriately in every iron I hit.

After a second day of taking demo to the course and a third range session I'm going to stick with my Mizuno irons. I can't get over the feel (just doesn't feel solid for me), if I were to get a second set these would definitely be it.

So I took the 7 iron out tonight and hit a lot of shots with it. Full swings, tight lies, punch shots, par 3 tee shots, knockdowns, working it both ways into greens. Here are my thoughts: I can definitely tell it's not a solid one piece forging. It left a bit to be desired on feel, didn't feel solid. With that said, I love the way they look and frame the ball. The turf interaction with these are incredible, I can hit a high launching club off a tight lie without digging. These are as long as my 923 HMP irons. I did like how they spin more as they stop close to my divots. I have reservations on distance control on less than full swings. I feel like the swing weight with the stock shaft was low. I wish Callaway would publish their desired SW specs, perhaps if I could order a stronger SW I would like them more. I'm on the fence with getting a set. I'm sure I would get used to feel. I do want to try the 8 iron to see if it's more solid for the short irons. Need more time demoing. I really haven't hit another iron like this before, and I've hit a lot. The ai face really helps for off-center contact. I'm hoping the short irons aren't has hot. If so it may work, if not I could definitely see playing these in long/mid irons.

I play mine at 43.25” and use a 75 gram shaft tipped like a standard three wood. I’m giving up no distance and it’s so good. I only hit driver three times a round now. Only if trying to bomb it on a long par 5.

I’ve never cared for callaway irons as I’ve been a mizuno lover. Played MP20MB for many years then switched to 923 hot metal pros. I’m swinging faster so needed a stiffer shaft so hit these irons this am. Wow, they nailed it with these irons. Great turn interaction without digging, even on tight lies. Only gave up 5 yards maybe on my 923hmp irons, but very forgiving and can work these irons. I can’t do that with my current set. I’m going to take the demo to the course next week and make a final decision. The stock shaft works well with this club. Well done Callaway!!

R7 mini is best mini driver I’ve hit (and I’ve hit all but the new titleist). I play the 13.5 degree head and cut the shaft 1/2” short and use a 75 gram shaft in it. This club is so damn good. Almost automatic. Flew it 275 to a par four which plays along a ravine and landed it pin high and it stopped on the green. Not leaving my bag. Now to find a 4 wood for more playability of the deck. I can hit a pretty good low cut shot with this though off the deck.

Sounds like September now. Will be higher lofts available too.

After hitting most options still haven’t found a winner. Shop is getting a titanium Elyte 4 wood with tensei 1k black 75. If I like it I may cut it -1/2” shorter. If this fails, there’s always next year

Just curious if anyone knows how many grams heavier a 5 wood head is than a 3 wood head?

OP here, I just got back from the range. I can't do the Ping (too light and couldn't feel the head and skinny). Titleist meh, Callaway meh, liked the Qi35 tour (but not enough forgiveness), but deciding between the 16.5 head or the 5 wood (delofted down and open face) head both at 3 wood length (Tensei 1K Black 75). I'm going back tomorrow to decide. I preferred the heavier SW of the 5 wood head so going to play with the weight kit of the 16.5 head to increase swing weight. Getting close.

I don’t launch it high off the deck. May try a TM tour 5 wood delofted with 3 wood length shaft in it or ping g440 4 wood. I do prefer a low spin low launch shaft

I would sleep with that wedge!!

Im going to hit the tsr2 hybrid at 21 degrees with 1K black will be the ticket because I can tweak lie angle and loft. Hopefully, its not draw bias.

Greywalls is sweet. Play 36 here. Timber stone is decent but after a few holes they all seem similar. I liked sweet grass. This was a Semetra tour site for a bit. Haven’t played the others.

The 21 UW was my 215-225 club. I don’t know if I can still order one with shaft or choice. Guess I can call in this tomorrow.

Keeping my 19UW, love it for tight driving holes and good into par 5s. It's the 21 i'm removing. Thanks for replying though. If it was the 19 a 4 wood would work well.

Im going to remove my 21 deg UW from my bag. I'm missing left off the tee with this (almost a pull hook), I don't have this issue with 19 deg UW or 25 tsr1 hybrid or my mini or driver. What club would you put in there ?
