Not a huge social media person so I hadn't heard all the criticism. I think courses like FR East get Pro hate all the time. Pretty open off the tee, but the greens complexes are off the charts. In flat listless texas the only way to make a championship level course is usally to have outstanding greens complexes. FR East is a second and third shot course. Pros like first and second shot courses with straight holeable putts. Any course that the third shot is the hardest will always draw hate as for many players it is the weakest part of their game. I find these types of courses so interesting and challenging. Different strokes. Literally. One of Hanses other masterpieces (Streamsong Black) faces the same criticism, but I would play it over any other course on SS property. It is such a strategic second and third shot course. IMO those with no golf imagination can only see clown shoes. To each their own.
