  1. Snuck out for 18 with the friend I started playing golf with 30 odd years ago. It was a course I hadn’t played, but had a reputation for being one of the nicest in the Vancouver area ( Mayfair lakes go). I haven’t played a course so flat in a long time. First time taking the Founders Club irons out on the course. Managed to hit 10 greens along the way. Holed a lot of putts for some reason too. Chipped in once, hit the flag squarely on another pitch too. Also made par from the sand once and after hitting in the water once. Was a fairly exciting round. To shoot 73 in my second round of the year feels totally undeserved. Most of the credit is probably keeping it in play - hit my Cally Apex hybrid 20 degree on a lot of par 4s. It has a 90tx Mitsubishi orange shaft in it, which should be too much for me. It is a fun club though (it hits the ball where I aim it) and will probably see more time. As for the founders club 200 they are gorgeous clubs. I can see why some folks stockpile them.
  2. Tourstage don't get enough respect. And of all iterations the 2008 lineup gets probably the least.
  3. 61 yesterday at Royal St. Georges off the tips with my Founders Club irons. (Top Tracer). Much of Top Tracer is decided by wedge shots and I hit it really well - still can't kick the Cleveland RTX 4 forged 56 from the bag. St. Georges has a couple really long par 3s and I stuck my 7-wood once and hit it to 35 odd feet the second time. Also hit it to 12 feet on another hole. It's going to come to Canada with me next week. Another experiment that is paying dividends is putting an ATTAS G7 6x in the driver. Getting a little more height, can swing all out and not go left too. The majority of drives measured between 163-167 miles per hour. Still like to bump those numbers up - have to continue to Jazzercise while I''m on vacation I guess. As for the blades. Don't think I pulled the 3 or 4 iron during the round. Hit the 5, 6, 7 a bunch and the height I'm getting is nice. Still adjusting to the 9 and PW (they want to go left, so I have to open the face at address and be very careful with them. I got a set of Tour Grinds (Frequency matched 2-P with FM 6.5s) a while back and I took the wedge. Does it ever want to get hit right out of the middle. If I didn't need to replace all of the grips, I would probably have them in the bag right now.
