  1. Great find Foozle! Your paint fill matches the set I have.
  2. All putters are a weight on the end of a stick. But I'd say this; in recent years I've only used a modern putter once, that was a TaylorMade Spider, don't know what model. But I can tell you that it was very stable through the stroke, in that it didn't feel as though it would come back to the ball other than how I'd lined it up (and I holed more of those tricky 5 to 10 foot putts than I normally do). The same can't be said for a true blade putter, and when I say true blade I don't include mallets or Anser styles. When I use a true blade I really have to concentrate on returning the face square to where I set it up, and ensuring that I strike the ball on the sweet spot. So why do I continue with these old putters when a modern putter is so much more stable? Because I enjoy using them and the satisfaction I get when I have a good putting round.
  3. Sounds like I've got it wrong then. I've always assumed that because nickel is magnetic then nickel stainless steels will be, but reading a little on the internet reveals that the whole stainless magnetism thing is a lot more involved than I thought and how the steel is heat treated can have a huge effect on it.
  4. The shafts are certainly Pyratone coated steel. The first True Temper Patent number was 1,670,531 dated May 22nd 1928. You have a putter and a long iron, date would be 1930s I'd guess. Value at present for this vintage of club is unfortunately low but hopefully their time will come!
  5. That's fantastic information you post there, thanks! Reading the blurb though it reads "A soft nickel inner compound", are they referring to a nickel stainless steel alloy? That was used extensively in cast heads post war in the UK and Australia, to test just place a magnet on the head, if it sticks it's most likely a nickel containing stainless. I can't see what they'd gain by using pure nickel?
  6. I'm a bit late reading your post and see you already have some excellent replies. As stated by @Shallowface the head is standard whether in a ladies or men's model. I imagine that the ladies shaft will be lighter than the men's but you could still experiment with shaft extensions, nothing to lose as the saying goes. And thanks for the kind words about the channel.
