  1. I am getting the impression that you are acting entitled yourself. While not explicitly stated, your posts read like, "I am a paid member so I should get to play anytime I want to no matter what". Every course, public, semi-private, or private has times that are blocked off for various leagues or organizations or events. In fact at our full private club the under 50 male has the least amount of tee time availability of any group. Tuesday mornings are senior men. Wednesday morning is ladies 9 , Thursday morning is ladies 18, Friday morning in the summer is juniors. There are one day tournaments on Saturdays. There are 2 day member/member and member/guest tournaments. There are 3 day club championship and sr. club championships. There are USGA sectional qualifiers. There are state PGA tournaments. We just hosted the 3 day state women's amateur, which included another 1/2 day of practice rounds. Golf courses are not there just for you. They are there for the golfing community. All things considered, I was able to play north of 75 rounds last year. Yes there are limitations, but I am not short on golf. Of course there are entitled people in the golf world, but I would say that there are not more entitled golfers than anywhere else. Look at your neighborhood, your HOA, your church, your workplace, your local grocery store parking lot, your airport boarding process. Entitled people everywhere, all the time.
  2. I bet you park in front of grocery stores instead of the parking lot because you are just so special, you deserve things that others don't.
  3. i had another response all written down, but it's not worth it. No minds are being changed.
  4. Wanting something is one thing. Posting about it in a thread called "The most annoying thing in golf..." is another. I want an empty seat next to me on the airplane. I am not going to get pissy if someone ends up sitting there. Maybe to make it clear to everyone else you should make some "DMM Only!" signs and put them up around your hole. Then we will all know to stay away.
  5. Perhaps you should purchase your own practice area. Expecting 90 minute private space on a common practice green is crazy.
  6. Apples and oranges. But if the park is full I might ask if my wife and I can sit at the opposite end of the table. Comparing putting to a hole and then putting away from said hole to eating someone's chicken is a bad analogy. edit: grammar
  7. 90 minutes commandeering one hole and being irritated when someone else is bored of the other 11 and wants to try hole 12? I don't get it. Situational awareness is knowing that common areas are common areas for a reason.
  8. Hold up. You are using a common practice area available to all golfers and think that it can be exclusively yours for 90 minutes? Any anyone who wants to putt to "your" hole for a bit is a doofus? Entitled much? I have never seen an area of a practice area "reserved" before.
  9. 100% a basic fitting will help. Will it take you to scratch? No. Will it save you 1 stroke per round? Probably. As a 5 index you are clearly capable of striking the ball with some consistency. At a minimum you should get your lie angle checked and get your driver shaft fitted. Do you need to spend 6 hours and $600 on the fitting and $6000 on exotic club head/shaft combos? No It can be done fairly quickly; and cheaply too. 3 swings with each club for lie angle. 10 swings with a few driver shafts on a Trackman. Any golf shop will do the lie angle for something like $5-$10 per club. For the driver shaft find a pro that plays the same brand as your driver. It is very likely that they have some shafts laying around to try. Edit: To piggy back on @caniac6 statement, there are 2 types of fittings. Brand new fitting and getting current stuff adjusted. Both have value. I would first get your existing stuff looked at and optimized. If the optimization is below what you consider "good", then it may be time to look at new equipment.
