All prices include shipping in CONUS. Since I have two Ventus Black+ listed, please let me know which one you're looking for when you PM me. 1. Graphite Design VF 8X Fairway shaft, it was played in a TM Qi35 Tour 7 wood at a playing length of just a tad under 42" to top of grip cap. No tip, no grip. I'm at least the second owner that I know of. It's in pretty good condition other than some scratches near the tip side. Likely just from pulling in/out of the golf bags. Scratches are pictured. $210 shipped. 2. Ventus Black Velocore+ 7X Fairway Shaft #1. Playing length in a TM Qi35 4 wood was 42.25" to top of grip cap. I do not believe it is tipped at all. Taylormade tip, no grip. I am first owner, purchased from Dallas Golf. $225 shipped. 3. Ventus Black Velocore+ 7X Fairway Shaft #2. Playing length in a TM Qi35 4 wood was 41 7/8" to top of grip cap. I think it is tipped 1". Taylormade tip, no grip. I am first owner, purchased from Dallas Golf. $225 shipped. 4. Brand new KBS $-Taper Black PVD 120 Stiff 7 iron shaft. It is butt cut and tip prepped but it has never been installed. Ordered direct from golfworks before I realized I hate $-Taper lol. Photo coming soon. No shaft label though. $55 shipped. GD VF 8x Ventus #1 Ventus #2

Well now im a little bummed with the assumption that we probably won’t get a 20% Black Friday discount this year. That’s my once a year LAB order.

If anyone is looking for a black shaft to pair with their DBM heads, I have a brand new KBS $-Taper 120 Stiff Black PVD that needs a home for a 7iron. I ordered it from golfworks and before I received it, I tested the $-Taper at my local golf mart and I absolutely hated it. Since I ordered it with butt and tip prep from golfworks I can't return it. PM me if you're interested and I'll give you a decent deal just so I can recoup most of my cost.

I have played the KBS Tour 120 before, but never as a regular gamer, just from time to time. I’m usually in that 120g area with PX6.0, CTaper 120S, Modus 115S. My impression is that the Tour 120 feels like it plays a little lighter than 120 due to the balance point. So losing a little weight may not be all that noticeable. I played the Modus 115 Stiff for a while and recently started playing the Modus 105 Stiff. I was really surprised how playable the 105 S was for me, coming from 120g. I found both the Modus 115 and 105 Stiff to be very stable for their weight and stiffness, so I might suggest you try both 105 S and 105 X just in case the S ends up working for you. I also play the P770 now with the Modus 105S and am getting more height than usual which is nice because I’m normally a low launch low spin player.

Just when I thought to myself I wasn't going to buy anymore irons for awhile...

I have been down this road before. In fact, I think I'm still on it, but just closer to my destination. As you can see in my sig, my iron/wedge shaft makeup looks a little odd. For the last couple years, I've waffled back and forth between i230 (paired with PX6.0 at first, then Modus 115S) heads and TM P770 heads (paired with Modus 105S). From a feel perspective, I have such better head/face control with stepless shafts - PX Rifle, C-Taper, PX LS, etc. But those shafts typically don't give me enough height and spin. << This sounds like the same thing you are contemplating right now. My delivery conditions are such that I've always been low launch, low spin. Right now I'm getting really good heigh and spin from the P770/Modus105S combo. But I stumbled onto a used i230 U-Wedge w/ C-Taper 130X +1/2" at 2* upright in a used demo bin and good gracious I love it. I love chipping with it. I love full shots with it. I have total clubhead awareness with it. So I got a couple more CT130X shafts to experiment with. I'm really loving it in my s159 LW. I also put it into my i230 7iron. Compared to my P770/Modus105S combo, it definitely flies lower with lower spin. Borderline not playable, but dang it's easy for me to find center contact with good low point control. I have a TPI fitting in September, so I'm going to give the fitter a big assignment with testing all kinds of iron shaft combos. Moral of the story > Everyone is different but I'm starting to come to the conclusion that you need to use the shaft that you have confidence in, then pair up heads and bend them to get appropriate launch conditions. Shocker I know. Brand new information that we've never heard here before from Howard and other experienced members lol.

I feel you. My TPI fitting is late September. But the good news is that hopefully when you order on the spot, their supply is past the point of the inevitable delay right after they run out of their first shipment of heads lol. It always seems OEMs have great stock and ship very quickly in the first few weeks near launch day, then demand is way past their forecast, supply goes to zero, lead times go to “8 to infinity” weeks, customer service reps all have bad info, we all lose our minds, the second container from overseas finally arrives and we’re all happy again.

You could also always call KBS Experience in Carlsbad and tell them your iron shaft, then ask for their flex rec in the Hybrid Proto. They are great to work with. Edit to add: when I went there a while back to get fit for iron shafts, they had a chart that showed equivalent "projections" for other club categories. For example, they fit me to C-Taper Lite X 115 in irons and the recommendation for hybrid was Hybrid Proto 95X. I didn't end up keeping the Hybrid Proto 95X in my bag for my 5 hybrid, but I think it's mostly because I didn't care for the hybrid head. It needed a little more weight, but that head is long gone now.

Reshafting and changing the tip weight of the Ping iDi easy?
Arlin964 replied to Klap's topic in WRX Club Techs
I don’t know this for sure, but the ping webpage for the idi doesn’t explicitly call out the hosel weight that some of their other irons have. As long as there is no hosel weight, I imagine you’d be fine. But the weight on the toe might normally be a little heavier than what you’d want for the extra length build. Perhaps ordering a specific Swingweight with a similar balance point shaft with math appropriate for your +1.5” length is the best you could do. For example, 1.5” is roughly equivalent to 9 Swingweight points just by going from the pinned thread in this forum. Be prepared to adjust that value a little bit based on the experience of more seasoned builders. So say you actually want D5 at your build, then try to request an order built to C6? Not sure they can do that much manipulation though at standard length. -
Funny you say that about off turf or off a tee. I’ve had i230s since they came out and have mostly enjoyed them. But I find it’s so much easier for me to get a good impact with them from a tee than from the tight turf I play on. That VCOG likely explains that. Probably 7 out of 10 shots from the fairway are at least a bit thin, or feel that way. It’s truly like I can’t get into the turf enough to get the sweet spot on the ball and I thought it was just because of the sole design. Could be that plus location of VCOG. What’s really odd is that with my irons, my strokes gained from the rough are better than from the fairway. I think this is starting to make sense though.

Agree with Stuart here - the amount of testing and swapping out components I have done over the years could have been drastically reduced if I did better experimenting with headweight only.

I'm really starting to come around to them. I waffle back and forth between my i230s and the '24 P770s. I honestly think that the P770s are as forgiving, if not more, as the i230s. It's hard for me to make a definitive statement right now, but I think I prefer the P770 turf interaction on the SoCal courses I play. With tight turf, it's just easier to get the sweetspot on the ball with the P770s. i230s tend to have just slightly more thin/clunky strikes and I have to imagine it's because of the bounce. I have the P770s paired with Modus 105S and the i230s are Modus 115S. Something weird is that I find I hit the short irons better with P770/Modus105 and my long irons (5,6) i230s with Modus 115 do better. I'm wondering if it's a shaft thing. 105 weight shaft in the short irons working better / 115 weight in the long irons working better = makes me confused. Currently loving an i230 UW 50* paired with KBS C-Taper 130X though so I'm thoroughly confused. 5 and 6 P770 irons tend to have bad toe strikes, but as bad as the strikes are, goodness I get some really good performance out of them.
