  1. Driver will be the biggest change. You don’t need the latest driver. Anything from the last several years with the right shaft will be a major upgrade. As others have said almost all of the big companies make good drivers. I like Pings but do just as well with Callaway, Titleist, Cobra… Fairway woods and hybrids are more personal. Certainly there have been advances in forgiveness and speed but not like a driver. If you have clubs that go the right distance that you hit consistently there isn’t a need to change. For irons there have been advances but they are very limited when it comes to blades. Changes to sole grind, moving CG away from the heel or lower in the head… I love Bridgestone irons, if the J36 irons still work there is no reason to change (except the grooves are not legal for competition). If you do want to change irons I recommend trying the Wilson Staff irons. They will have a similar feel to the Bridgestone irons and are very consistent. Welcome back and have fun at your fittings.
  2. Picked up a set of Vega VM-02 irons 4-PW. Played Vega VW-06 GW and VW-04 SW for several seasons. Loved the feel and sole grinds on the wedges so was very excited to try the VM-02 irons with the tri-grind sole. Top line is nice and thin. Long irons look perfect at address. Mid irons and short irons have a quick transition from the hosel to the top line. Not my favorite but not too bad. Satin finish looks great. Reshafted with Project X 6.0 shafts and took them out for a round. Irons feel great and performed very well. Love how they get through the turf and allow me to open the club to play different types of shots. Feel is very soft as expected for Kyoei forged irons. PS cloudiness on the irons is due to condensation from high humidity. Temperature difference from my basement to the outside is significant 😀.
  3. Picked up a flow set of 2024 Cobra King irons. Cobra did a great job with these irons.
  4. Got a flow set off the BST. 4-6 CB 7-PW MB. Cobra did a great job with these irons. They blend together better than any other combo set I have. Top line of the CB (5.8 mm) is marginally thicker than the MB (5.3 mm) but I cannot distinguish the difference at address. For reference, the top line of the 24 Wilson Staff MB (5.1 mm) and CB (6.5 mm) irons are noticeably different. Heel to toe length, shape and offset are all nearly identical. Sole width is the biggest difference but this isn’t apparent at address. Feel is the same with the CB and MB. Picture key: 7 iron is on the left in the second pic 3rd pic is the 7 iron 4th pic is the 6 iron.
  5. Cobra King MB/CB flow set off the BST. Irons feel great. CB and MB top lines are indistinguishable at address.
  6. For sale very nice set of Cobra King MB/CB iron heads. 4-6 are CB 7-PW are MB. Standard loft and lie. Heads are is excellent condition with the exception of a minor ding on the sole of the 7 iron, see pictures. Got these off the BST. Great irons just couldn’t beat out my Wilson Staff combo so moving them to the next member. $475 obo add $10 if you are west of the Mississippi. Happy to answer questions or post more pictures. Can build the clubs if you have shafts for them.
  7. Thanks for the heads up, I’m too old to be concerned about high level competition 😀. I did sell my Bridgestone J33 CB irons because the grooves were not legal. Probably a bad decision as they were amazing irons.
  8. Thanks, really like the Chicago shape and chocolate finish. Keep thinking about a Chicago with a flow neck and sight dot. That would be perfect. Toulon does a great job with their head shapes and finishes.
  9. Did it to get to the head weight I wanted. Was planning to get lighter weights but they played well with just the toe weight so never bothered getting the lighter weights. Not sure if it changes the COG much.
  10. I may have a problem, I really love Toulon putters! Most recent addition is a Magnolia putter. Chocolate Chicago with sight dot is my current gamer. Silver mist Chicago is my travel putter. Magnolia has been out for several fun rounds and feels great and performed well. I can take any one of them out with confidence.
  11. Toulon Magnolia putter off the BST. Lovely putter. Minor ding on the top line. Couple of rounds with it and really enjoy the feel of the putter. Easier to align than I expected.
