Hi,
I turn 50 in a couple of years and want to start planning a trip - we will likely spend a week in England (I am English, but live in the US) and head up to Scotland for a week. I'll be with my family (kids will be 13 and 11), but would live to get 2-3 rounds in while I'm there. I'm thinking I might settle on two locations for the 7-9 days - Edinburgh for 2-3 days and then somewhere else undecided.
Would appreciate any guidance on:
Which 1-3 courses would you pick in the Edinburgh area? (e.g. Gullane, Berwick etc)
What other location would you pick - both that will be fun for the family for a few days and will have a couple of good golf options? I do have a friend in Inverness I'd love to see, so I could just do that and drive up A9 and back through Loch Ness - so maybe a course of two in the Inverness area?
For reference, I have golfed in the Borders and the very North (Tain, Wick, Durness, Reay) but nothing in between.
Appreciate any thoughts!
Rich
