  1. The Ping Zing is a real bomber , but as noted is early 90s.
  2. This happened last winter? He had the tool, I like tour velvets or knock off's that are close. He has the name brand lol
  3. ha, I struggled and outsourced it to my club guy.
  4. Went back and found the 8 today and some Jay-Z vinyl for real.
  5. What model? How did you like it? I love my 949X 7W
  6. I collect and play my Hogans , to fall more in love with my Wilson Staff stuff lol. But for sure when you strike a nice Hogan blade, its fun!
  7. Good score today. Let me know if you need any of these, most likely keeping the Hogan 7 as its from the 80s and will blend in with my missing 7 from my 88 redlines Nice grips, barely played. I own the Zing versions of the 1 and 5. I'd love to trade one or both for a 7, if you got one. 4,5,6,7. I'm pretty sure the 7 will match my '88 lofts.
  8. Catching up on this thread, a lot of cool models here. Im in love with my short set of '69 Wilson Staffs lately. Can hit them high , low, draw or fade
  9. Been playing a smaller bag of old stuff at night lately Spalding tour edition driver (graphite shaft!_ Eye o Matic 4 wood with a 50 gram counter weight in the handle Ping Zing 5 wood 1969 6,7,8,9 Wilson Staffs 1965 PW Wilson Staff Bullseye Likely gonna swap the 5 wood for a 7 next time.
  10. I love a lot of clubs but '69 Wilson Staff's are an all time favorite. Easy to hit in relative terms and they look amazing.
  11. To echo what others are saying, play the lofts what they shipped with. Comparing them and trying to get modern lofts doesn't make sense. If you want high launch / low spin, just get a set of those.
  12. Its pretty black and white I need everything irons / wedges +2 lie or I can't strike it. Loft I try to match what it shipped with, minus wedges I'll mess with some as needed a degree or 2.
  13. Stack and tilt if you body can't shift weight , I have a longer back leg and struggled with this until I went I got into reading about stack and tilt. SagutoGolf on Youtube is a good source. Stay on your front side.
  14. Self scramble (2 balls) 5 hole loop at sunset, finally under 80 and not nasty. I shot +2 ha ha ha, I did lip out 2 par putts! Nicklaus Super-Eye-O-Matic (pretty sure 88 issues) 2 and 4 and they have 50 gram counter weights in the handle. They are FIRE when you strike them well. 1969 Wilson Staff SW, 9, 8, 6. Need to do some reshaft work over some bent ones to fill this out more. I got them +0.5 with wedges the same length, enough for me not feel bent funny on the shortest club in the game. Hitting the 8 iron tonight it reinforced that I can draw the ball more easier the closer I am to the ball. 1965? Wilson Staff PW, its awesome at address I really like it. @Stephen8802 got it to me like 2 years ago If i recall. 80s Spalding Tour Edition 2 Iron. I've had the shorter irons setup and like them, decided to get the 2 going over the 1 lol. Ping N-Echo. Finally played this , had it setup for 3 years I think. Its pretty cool , easy for me to pull as i've been playing center shafted all year. I like long putts being able to feel it swing and you close it back to square (maybe lol). lead tape never hurt anything! The Goosenecks I own don't need it, thats about it. Best looking Wilson Staff irons of all time I hit it some the other afternoon at my parents and just one set off tee shots tonight. Ive hit it good twice! Cuts like a knife and doesn't feel alright if you don't strike it lol Temporary routing has this awesome 90 degree hole, old 9th tee to the old 1st green. Aim between the trees to gap or tonight I powered the 6 over the tree with a light branch strike that didn't hurt ether ball. Shanked the SW the first time and put it close the 2nd time. The new 8 is another 90 degree to our old practice green. Very (British) Open vibes with the burned off grass, I hit a couple shots 10 yard short off the green a few holes and got on easy. 125 par 3 to close. I pitched this one very close to the cup.
  15. I take it they never made anything more lofted than a 5 wood? No 7 wood? I have 2-5.
  16. Its a thrill to save par or make birdie with something under $30 that was mostly likely made before the 1970s. I'm not out to impose what others play, but I get a kick out of getting good results on the cheap
  17. Not my tea. The premium / mark up model is antithetical to how I look at golf gear. Nothing I can't do with a sub $30 older Ping.
  18. Cuts like a knife, feels already if you strike it.
  19. Finished gripping this after loft and lie and it awesome. Im spinning them on my parents lawn.
  20. Its your life, but i'd play the Haig Ultras
  21. I moved away from a 3 hybrid I got along with my first year back, to long irons because i would let the roll and bulge get into my head hard. I'd miss and not understand it and over think it, I prefer that flat long iron feel. My home course is building an indoor driving range and hopefully expanding to 18 in the coming years, LL bean money and such has flown in. We are in a temp routing that is really fun but only has 2 driver holes. I can't enter in any handicap system also. As a result I'm gonna try to use "real woods" every round for the rest of the season there. Really been getting on with the 5 Ping Zing wood, goes about the same distance as my modern 7
