We are coming to the same realization. The plan now is to fly into St. George and stay completely in St. George for the entire trip. We'll save Mesquite for a Vegas/Mesquite trip.
Our new itinerary is:
Day 1 - Arrival Day:
Green Spring - PM
Day 2:
Sand Hollow - AM
Sky Mountain - PM
Day 3:
Coral Canyon - AM
Coral Canyon - PM
Day 4:
Copper Rock - AM
Sand Hollow - PM
Sand Hollow: I have heard lots of issues with conditions at Sand Hollow, I'm hopeful that by next April conditions should have improved. Head they got hit hard by fungus, maybe? We are staying at Sand Hollow and can get great pricing on tee times—why we are playing this track twice.
Coral Canyon: Great deal on a 36 hole day. I've heard conditions there have really improved over the last year or so. Sounds like they are investing in the course.
Green Spring: Heard this is one of best muni courses in the area and I'm thinking should be a good warm up round.
Sky Mountain: Same as green spring. Heard views are awesome, but conditions should be decent but not amazing.
Copper Rock: Heard we should expect great conditions, but the course layout is kind of so so. They want $270 in April, not sure if this course is worth that?
Black Desert: May try to get tee times 30 days out, but not getting my hopes up for a group of 12 in April. The new pricing for 2026 has pricing at $450 in April!! Kind of insane. I can play a lot of golf for $450, but if it is as good as people say, maybe it is worth it? $300 is usually my limit per round, and that course better be in amazing condition with great service and amenities. I'm not trying to cut corners—these trips are all about playing great courses. That said, I don't want to blow everyone's budget on a single round or two.
Ledges: Heard the front 9 is okay, back 9 is way better with great views. Worth adding to the list, maybe instead of Copper Rock—should definitely be cheaper?
