I was just doing the drills in his videos by feel. And I totally feel what he is saying. It felt great. But now I see it never even looks remotely close to what he wants. The broom force drills feel exactly what I’m trying to do with no camera. And I swear I do cast an and cast b. But somewhere it falls apart and I can’t feel it where it happens. But the ball is going really nice and straight and im hitting at least an inch in front of all my shots with an iron. The fat shot has been eliminated this season I was videoing the drills with no ball this last month. But when I take a real swing I revert back even though it totally feels like my mirror drill work

I’m trying. For some reason I have so many darn annoying habits ingrained 😞

Fight this occasionally. It’s no fun 😞

Posted before and got some good feedbacks. These are some 8 irons.Normally carry 155-165.driver speed is 101-106.Always okay right to left.Worked hard on my flexibility this year in my core and legs.Had a great year of golf.Kept it in play and many good memories to boot.Big fan of NTC and broom force.I feel like I’m implementing a lot of it.But I know feels aren’t real.Dont video my swing a lot and focus more on where the ball is striking the face. Going to play a few more weeks than put the clubs up for the season

I’m trying to follow along. But I feel more confused now than when this started.

Would love to see a “recommended” body degree positions by age. How far open, weight pressures, tilt,, how far to swing to the right, .. degrees recommendations by age would be prefect. At 61, I’m sure never going to be able to be as open as 20 year old. These AMG videos are great. But having a base guideline for age groups would be super beneficial

What in the holy f*** am I supposed to believe now??? Now I’m lost

So basically the teachers that said to handle drag, pull right elbow thru, orbit pulling (that I saw on be better golf),even the hands forward hit down stuff. The instructors who teach that will now say they were teaching us a feel to sync us up. Or a feel to have bodies more open at impact. And say this video by AMG is inline with their teachings. However they will place the blame on us students for not interpreting them correctly and all will be right in the world.Basically we are stupid and they are never wrong scenario.Old bait and switch. Haha

I’m guessing the pulling the handle or leading with the right elbow is what they are bunking. But I could be wrong. I’m surely no expert 😞

What a video. So basically my massive inside I had for decade(s) was a good starting point?I guess the next feel would’ve been over the top with the body. And agree about so many of us played and never get better. Our understanding of the golf swing is all out of wack. But than we have teachers/golf methods that say pull the handle into front of left pocket or drive the right elbow. So they are basically feeding us bad info

Please listen to Monte and Iacas.Love reading their posts

With those stats you can still play any course under 7000 yards somewhat comfortably. Learn what your miss is, focus on 150 and in

Are there any pressure mats/ force plates that are less than $5k?

Wtf 😳 im in the wrong business.Playing golf is manageable price wise. Its all the accessories and training aids that are outrageous. They should be shamed of these prices -
Been touring the great states with our mixed couple singles groups. Many resorts, newer semi public facilities seem to distancing themselves from the pga of America logo. And being run and managed by a golf management or sports affiliated firm. The workers are shop managers and shop assistants with no pga golf program background. But have or are avid golfers in one point of their lives. The teaching pros were the same.Independent style contractors with no PGA affiliation. Is the pga of America criteria and curriculum a thing of the past? Slowly fading away like the dinosaurs 🦕

That position focus you mention has ruined more than helped. It’s a golf swing, not a golf hit

Delete. Not gonna add more than needed. Or less to add more

Not trying to derail this Ray.But many of our swings look different hitting into a net 5 feet away off a mat.Versus the driving range or even more so our golf course swing.Would recommend going somewhere where you have real targets to aim at off of turf not a mat.

Right Hand, Right Eye Dominant Golfers
biker74 replied to iceman1118's topic in Instruction & Academy
Great thread. Responses by Virtuoso and Hawkeye really bring some great insights.Maybe this should be another thread. But when I turned 55 my eyes changed from slight near sided to dominant both eyes permanently near sided. My new eye changes and new eye gear actually made the ball appear as if it was teed up.Took me many seasons to adjust to my eye changes from aging.Often wonder what changes great golfers make when their eye sight dwindles with age -
Sure you heard this one.But the best advice I ever got was at the tour striker academy a few years ago.Martin’s assistant had me hit golf balls with a chair 🪑 behind me.I tried to keep my butt on the chair. And in the follow thru I tried and push the chair slightly back.Might help

That is a good excuse to use next time I play and I shoot like crap . Hahah. No , good reply Monte. Agree. Maybe the teachers need to ingrain same training they give juniors and females.

Not sure if this is the spot for this. Maybe have moved to junior golf section 😎. Anyways, for a few seasons I would volunteer my time helping organize junior golf programs. And even helped with new female golf programs for no particular age limits. Introducing them to this great game and getting clubs/ range time and on course training donated thru local businesses. Wasn’t involved in any teaching(s). More into setting up the different venues. in my observations of watching the video analysis the pros would use with these students. The vast majority of these new golfers had positions in their swings that were textbook. The bent right arm - open hips at impact, straight left arm backswing. Etc ..etc. their contact maybe wasn’t great. But they were learning the basics. Amazing really now when it comes to the adult men learning. Why is it our motions look so jacked up? Yet so many of the females and juniors leaning this game look so good? Never understood this. You would think a beginning male who is also new to the game wouldn’t be so uncoordinated looking. Than they (we) are just cursed with such an uncoordinated motion for their entire golf lives. Is it because adult men are too strong and over power a golf ball? Never knowing that brute strength isn’t needed in this activity? Any thoughts
