It oddly is and yes the Womens Open great and I actually try to watch it. I think it because the courses they play, as I love links golf. I dont watch any other women's majors though 🤔

Up there every week. I heard 1. Members where not happy 2. numbers not penciling. No idea on No.1 but I can see No. 2 being accurate. Troon was just managing from what I understood and the cost to manage to cost club paying did not align for either party.

The DP Tour actually owns the Ryder Cup. If the report the PGAT did is acurrate and sure it was, it showed that DP Tour survives pretty much on the TV contract and other aspects from the Ryder Cup. *sorry dont recall specifics but seemed the PGAT findings on investing more into the DP Tour...it was a complete waste besides the Ryder Cup Edit: As known the DP Tour asked the PGAT to invest more years before LIV. They said no, which econmics the PGAT should have said no. LIV approches DP Tour when starting up and suddenly the PGAT wanted to exercise its right to investment more. If not there could have been a chance the DP Tour and PIF made some arrangement.

I read the same. I read recently I think between Adelaide and the JCB event add up to about 60%-70%. Maybe they keep moving to different places trying to find locations that draw enough to help or reduce loss.

So from all your post it seems you feel golf, professional golf that is, is US ONLY? That other pro golf is just minutiae? When it comes to a business plan per se, since you note economics should be be a factor in the discuss then why care what they are doing? Everyone says the PGAT is fine, so let them do there thing tell they get bored. Its an odd view honestly if you think econmics should not matter. All this is, pro golf, is a business and in business econmics are all that matters. I will bite though, If econmics dont matter why did the PGAT need a investment of 1.5 Billion?

@bscinstnct is dead on serving other areas of the world. Yet your post is spot on golf in the US is overserved.

Not sure all the laugh facing on this post, I believe him. 10 X 0 .....is still ZERO... Joking aside looking at the sponsors in the last event, a few other events this year compared to year one. Adding in some of the teams have done endorsement deals with clubs companies now. Could be true given where it started as they really started pretty much with nothing 4 years ago.

Well how players get out of position on the PGAT is pretty obvious. They fall behind, but that never happens as we know as ALL of them for the most part play slow. Yes a lot of money on the line but still. So you dont see the gapping of groups to create "out of position" Again money on the line but watching a two some play 18 holes in 4.5 hours is pretty crazy. As to the "40 seconds to play a shot" I thought was applied to the second / third players. *depend on groupings That at times is carzy as those players have been standing by their ball typically for the duration the of first player or the second player. yes as noted circumstances apply if they are inline with another player to close but you can stand to the side and still do the math. Then walk up, confirm your thoughts and pull the trigger...!

This is what I love about golf, how each see courses Doral is not one I would have listed LOL Played many top courses and number have hosted PGAT events/ Majors and IMHO most courses the PGAT plays are typically the ones I walk off with really good/great courses thought but not that feeling "man I have to play that again...!" Not a knock on the courses as a number of them are good but its obvious as you noted, they need venues that can hold a lot of fans. *Typing this Phoenix.......was younger / pumped to play... that is pretty high on my list of overated courses. 🤣 When younger I wanted to play all the coures the pros play, Having done number of them, the one thing that stands out is most of those courses fade faster, dont leave a true lasting memory, other then "yea I played it". *Happen this year as did a flash in the pan trip in March, solely to play Tara Iti. Its a great setting and great course. The images make the design look incredible but played 2 others next to it the same week. I can say Tara iti was not the best of the 3 IMHO. Again great course and splitting hairs. Doak did his typical fantastic great job and the venue is amazing but course only we walked away thinking....hmmm that the closet Doak course we have played that felt like a Coore Crenshaw course.

The PGAT has Rule 6-7 that addresses slow play, out of position, etc. Which they have the right to assert penalties but I can not recall it ever being enforce or have seen. First offense: One Stroke Penalty Second offense: Two-Stroke Penalty Subsquent offenses: Disqualification *Assume the offenses are per event? I dont think a cmnulative?

Stupid summer cold so actaully watched golf this weekend. Besides Majors been a long time since I wathced golf on tv. Watched LIV for a bit and the PGAT. I like the LIV courses better vs what the PGAT plays. At least the ones I have seen. That noted the PGAT knows they need to play courses that can hold fans or fit them while LIV is playing what works in different parts of the world. *Granted LIV this weekend looked to have as much if not more fans at the event vs the PGAT? ** Numbers show the JCB event like AUS one gets the most fans it seems each year for LIV Still not a fan of the music..! Seems way to loud on some holes. I mean serious it was louder at times it seemed then the commentators? Not sure on the format for either. I noticed you get way more shots from different players on LIV. Granted it feels very "jumpy" at the same time but you see alot different players which is nice. Just not the leaders all the time. The PGAT event "seemed" boring but its not that I realized its just "bland" at times. PGAT broadcast locks in a single player, talking to his caddie, checking wind, routine, commentators trying to pump shot that really 75% could probably hit, etc. Not sure which player it was I saw this last weekend but they had him in on for like 5 mins before he even hit the shot. Not talking a 3 wood carry of 260 over water, it was a 157 yard shot...! Second think that hit me and we all know this the PGAT is horrid on pace of play. Pace a serious pet peve to me, and watching how slow they play is crazy. Evoke the rules on these players is all I have to say on that. Broadcast wise seems somewhere in between would be a really good balance. Same on commentating. Note: Never been to a LIV event, number of PGAT events though. People I know that have went to both all of one of them say the players / atmosphere is way more engaging at a LIV event and way more "younger" golfers. I think attending a LIV could more fun personally but TV wise figure out way to killed that background music. Players: The talent is there for both. The PGAT best and LIV best are great players. LIV though does have players who I 100% agree just took the money at the tail end. Honestly I thought Bubba was one of them, but he has shown lately he actually wants to play well so maybe the injury issue was pretty bad for him? Suratt and McKibben are really really good young players. Impress me every time I see them. Regardless of where they play they would have been great. Plus being with Rahm / Hatton since they went to LIV was the best place. Cam....? Really sad to see him just drop. Texting with Aussie mates last weekend about it they are all so disappointed in him. They agree he took the money but rumor is he really not trying to hide the fact with his inner circle. No proof other then mates over in AUS but I guess it was somewhat planned. He knew he was getting married, they wanted to have kids right away. So easy money, less schedule per se and more family time. I guess depends on what you value. Mt bottom line neither lights that fire that I have to make sure to record or tune in each weekend...... 🤣

I doubt Bryson was a problem. He seems to want to please everyone as we have seen over the last few years. Now as we all know he or may not have been aware of things around him in the past, we saw that while he was on the PGAT but he sure is not aware of it now since he has a team they are very "social media" conscientious ........ IMHO I had to pick some one to be picky, I would bet on Colin M.

Your correct sorry wrong comish

100% none of money went to the players. It was bonuses to the brass guaranteed. It was not planned on the books for revenue that year and when it came up the PGAT evoked the clause. It was Beman who did it, not Jay. Who paid it is irrelevant... they used them to line pockets via a contract that was shady for even then. It also coincided when Tiger called a "meeting" with Beman about that aspect plus the Nike adds he did as the PGAT wanted Nike to pay the PGAT to allow Tiger to do them. 30 years later and nothing has changed technically in the contract

100% fact.. PGAT will get a cut ine way or another. Edit: just nit Phil, Tigwr and Phil each paid the PGAT 1 million apiece to just play in the fist match.
