Southerner is probably too generous redneck inbred mo-Ron is probably more fitting. I got the Titleist trs1 fw recently and they are fantastic. Get the ball easy straight up in the air. i think you are on target wedge game gotta improve hit them solid for the most part just lack distance control.

Ain't no instructor....but I went through a similar thing....I probably still aim stoopid! But.... Seems like aiming right for a righty can have more of an adverse effect on your motion than aiming too far left (over the top and face flashing) A few things that may help... Get you one of them face magnet thingies so you know what "square" looks like. Also if you can find the back edge of a mat or a board or something and get your leading edge up against that it will help you see what square is. Square looked open to me so I was hitting face pulls too much. Also, I have a strongish grip and a face that was looking left (I'm a righty). So my thought was I want the face to be square when the ball separates from the face which would mean the face would need to be "open" at address. So I kept my grip the same but sorta took it in front of the ball then lifted it up over the ball and soled it and it looked "open"....I don't hit no face pulls any more much. My miss is more pushy. So experiment with an open face and just hit some shots. See what you get. Your action looked pretty dang good to me! Experiment with open and see what it produces for you. It may take you a small bucket to get used to it. But I feel like open face gave me some margin. One last thing...look up golf parallax on YouTube. There are some good videos out there. Put you a stick in the ground about 10 20 yards down range and then lay another stick on the ground pointing right at it. Then set up to all that stuff square and look at the stick. Depending on your eye dominance and stuff that stick may look way right to you as a lefty? Which may be causing your alignment issues. It's pretty interesting to see how that works. If you got a pretty flat range you can get you a bigazz long tape measure and stretch that thing out way down range it helped me to see a bright green line. Last but not least...I feel like golf is hard because in most "swing the stick" sports the shaft is the face. I golf club is like a spatula with the face offset. So I try to think of a portion of the shaft as a "proxy" for the face so I can just swing the shaft like a bat and not really worry much about the face. I feel like the loft on the face sorta runs up the target/front side of the shaft up my left arm. So I kind aim and swing the SHAFT and not really the face so much. Bottom line you got a nice action...experimenting with getting how you see the face/target as a new "normal" may help you out.

I may need to holler at you man if you can get me over 100 in half an hour! I just gotta be sure I don't blow up my back again. Your cruising speed is 120 at 58...I feel sorry for your wife!

Thanks for the replies! For some reason the site only allows me to post 3 times or something? They must know about the meth lab or something In relation to me, as my granny would say…you can “season” carp, but it’s still gonna taste like carp! So I started tracking the stats for the last 3 rounds…(77, 79, & 77) Eldrick 5 F-Up’s: · 3 Whips – 4 · Double Bubbles – 1 · Blown EZ Saves – 5 · Bogey Par 5’s – 5 (yikes) · Bogey from 130 – 7 I tracked drives outta play too. I hit 7, but the rough has been BRUTAL. So I really only hit 2 blocked out drives. The rest were just in some rough that I didn't really have any legit control on the shot. On the last round I tried to track proximity. I ain’t sure if this is the right way to think about it it. I hit 10 greens (do you track it if you miss the green?) But anyhow I picked 3 buckets: · Over 130 – 32.7 feet · 130 to 80 – 24.4 feet · 80 in – 26.1 feet (air mailed a couple of them par 5 greens with wedges...outta the sweet spot though. Contact good just can't hit the off-speed evidently) As far as, the mental stuff…surprise that’s a challenge! So I have a buddy that is a teacher and a heck of a player..tournament tested. I got a chance to play with him in a pro-am thing. He’s not a long hitter but AK-UR-IT…like a surgeon and a sniper had a baby. I watched this dude shoot a 67 and win that thing. It was like a video game. And I bet he didn’t hit a drive over 270. We talked about stuff. And he was like…”Dude you got enough game that you should be shooting under par. It’s a mind set. You have to believe.” This was probably 12 years ago and I still ain’t broken par. So basically I’m out there waiting for the snake to bite and he’s out there poppin’ the top on a can of whoop dawg. He expects to shoot low. And I reckon I don’t trust or have some golf anxiety or some goofiness.

I'm good for an "excessive movement" at about 6:30 am and after lunch everydayumday! I hear you though seriously. Watched you at the Senior Open...you achieved golf hero status in my book! Big Baller!

Dayum Cowboy! That's impressive! Sounds like shooting your age is fixin' to happen! The only "regular exercise" I get could make me go blind :)

Thanks Killer! I'm certainly an original...original D.A.! The above makes a ton of sense. For whatever reason, I got on this line of thought and you really can't make no mistakes if you want to shoot par or better! I got a bag full of headcovers. Longest iron is a 7 iron and I also carry 5 wedges! Figure that one out. I found this old Titleist 215 (I think that's right) driver in the used bucket. It had a 45 gram stiff shaft in it...mitsubishi fubuki (hell I thought fubuki was a wrassler from back in the 80's). But it changed my driving completely. Cut every ball and pretty much drive it where I'm looking for the most part. I told my buddies if I ever try to trade that driver..kick me slap in the ballz. I started tracking some stats. I think what I'm learning is...I thought I was a decent wedge player...but I actually ain't too good. I felt like I was good prior to the quitting, but right now the drummer from Def Leopard could take me to the hoop on wedge game. I'm hitting them solid, but over greens....which is stoopid for a dude with 5 wedges in the bag. Appreciate you taking the time to respond! Good stuff mang!

Nice! Hope you get there big cat!

Appreciate the help! What did you do on speed? I'm trying to be sure I don't mess up my back again in the process!

Well I have this buddy that caddied on tour and he told me “you hit it about like a really good girl”…so I just ran with it hit about 9 to 10 greens. So probably need to tighten that up. Short game is streaky. Putting has been weird to say the least…I literally used to get the shakes putting shorties…my buddies were like “dayum bro you got the palsy it’s like playing with Mohammed Ali”. So I started looking at the hole and the shaking up and left. So now all putts looking at the hole. That’s sorta streaky too. Got way better on speed but 7 foot and in is an adventure at times. I’d like to break par 2 times before taking the ole dirt nap.

Hey guys! I haven’t posted on a golf forum since 2009 evidently. I’m about to be 55 and I want to break par a few times before I assume room temperature. Had to quit golf around 2009… kids at least the ones I claimed on my tax return…Made a come back around 5 years ago…was steady progressing and busted my @ss in gas station parking lot and had to quit again for 6 months L5 S1. Better now and back at it for the last episode. Game stuff… Hit it like a girl about 240-250 Swing speed around 90-95 I’ll peg it 6,300 to 6,600 where I will shoot 82 to 76 typically I shot par twice pre-back injury and low since was 75 I know my swing and can manage it around decent so not looking to over haul it Decade stuff has help tremendously…used to play golf swing now learning to play golf…may buy the app Don’t have to get to scratch but would like to get better I’m all ears on suggestions criticism whatever Don’t have many stats right this minute but have about 3 rounds I could post. Just not sure what to track? Willing to practice a couple times a week and play 2 times a week. Just want to be efficient. Would welcome any feedback even if it’s take up pickle ball or lock yourself in your garage with the car running. thanks! Bean aka 12piecebucket
