Another reason I hope Keegan plays, to show that this idea a captain has to grind on these details 24/7/365 is absurd.

@MrFlipper Good to hear, I'm a Sam's fan and have had my eye on those as I realized I ran out of gloves. Oftentimes I don't even use a glove while playing, but If nothing else I might have to get some just to hang on to the club hitting balls into my net in 100* weather.

A New Chapter for GolfWRX- We are now part of the Pro Shop family
Choclab replied to easyyy's topic in General Golf Talk
Here's hoping WRX doesn't go the way of Ram or MacGregor. -
Will watch to see Gotterup, who is becoming one of my favorite players.

@NRJyzr Touched on it in the blade thread, but I'm curious why you went straight to the XV and didn't try the Diamond or regular Z-star after coming from the low compression balls... I guess just the distance increase? That's what it was for me, so I'm guessing it's the same for you, but thought I'd ask. As I was saying over there, the 2019ish XV was really too hard and clicky, but I stuck with it just because my results with it were so good. The last couple of generations are much improved there to where it feels fine now and I don't even think about it, though the Diamond is still softer-feeling. Does the XV feel okay to you off those old blades?

@chodsden Just wanted to let you know I've been totally wheels off on my swing for a while now, but tried your 60%/solid contact drill into a net and after just one session was already seeing much better results. I'll spare you my entire long swing journey, but my first book was Hogan's Five (dad grew up in Ft Worth) and I've always preferred that compact, body turn-oriented swing. My problem has always been getting too flat and inside, but with your drill I don't even worry about that. Also, I noticed in taking fuller swings, when I thought of firing my right hip, I without trying got more of that high finish Hogan had instead of the flatter one I had before... I think just as a result of more clubhead speed. But that's getting ahead of myself. I need to almost re-learn the basics. Any other drills I should try? I think I need about a billion of the 60% one just to ingrain a better quarter or third of the swing just before and through impact, but if there are any other ones you recommend I'll do those, too. Thanks.

I know these are famous last words when talking about a young player, but I think Gotterup is the real deal and not just a flash in the pan.

Mosquitos, rattlesnakes, and "Playing Through" in the final round of a major...

For real. Think I'll go watch some Grant Horvat or something...

I wouldn't ever doubt SS's drive. Other guys, I might, but not his. It was just a philosophical comment.

Exactly. When Tiger did this everyone loved it.

Anyone else surprised at the tepid response Scottie has been getting from the fans? I know he's not Rory or Shane, but still, with the way they appreciate the game, I'd think he'd get more applause.

A little behind on the DVR, but thanks to NBC and Mike Tirico, I've just learned that Shane Lowry is from Ireland and won this tournament a few years ago. The more you know...

Good stuff. And not to get OT, but I've used that ball for years now -- with TW 276s, FG51s, and Hogan Grinds -- and several years ago it was too hard and clicky. But the last couple of generations are much better, and just fine. The Diamond is even better, though. :)

Right Hand, Right Eye Dominant Golfers
Choclab replied to iceman1118's topic in Instruction & Academy
I'm right handed and left-eye dominant. Hasn't helped me a bit. -
How is he growing the game? He's not even on the LIV tour.

What we need are more Tirico hits explaining how golf is popular in Ireland and it rains a lot there.

Bad clubs

I want to hear about this. I still remember 30 years ago I saw a set of those in a used shop in OKC and always regretted not buying them.

Who TF is Grant Horvat? Seriously though, put me in the camp who doesn't understand this stuff. And it has nothing to do with age, either. Some of us want to watch the best in the world play at the highest level of competition, and simply don't care about celebrities and personalities. It wouldn't matter if I were 25 -- I wouldn't care about watching some spare play golf any more than I cared at that age about watching some actor play crappy golf at Pebble. Never understood that, either. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

It's no TGL, but it's all we got today so I'll watch a little.

Wow, that Mac BH 2 wood is stunning! Someone did a good job on it. Doesn't hurt that about that color stain and the bone insert on top is my favorite combo.
