Noticed that T250 is not on the list, which begs the question as to which version of T100/150/350 are you referring to?

Resale in two years? How many sets have you had over the last year? Your optimism is commendable 😂
-
Yup. They'll build to just about any quality level that you care to specify. The better you specify the product requirements (and penalties if they're not met) the better the quality you're likely to get. If you leave an avenue to pocket cost savings while meeting the contract they will (just like any other source).

Plenty of cars of this ilk have roller shade like cargo covers available. And if we think a seatback needs to come down, we have a cheap solid black tablecloth that we throw over exposed cargo if security is a concern. Perfect, no, but thieves generally are moving quickly looking for something eye catching and assessing risk/reward. Plus to a non golfer a golf bag draped in fabric looks a lot like a covered body.

Callaway X Forged & X Forged Max Irons! In-Hand Pics!

Yeah, I think I got in just as that thinking was fading. Some Catholic nuns held onto that for a while longer. -

I'd say that in the current world, companies can sell enough left handed sets to make money, but as pointed out, if it's spread across the entire lineup it gets dicey. 3D printing should one day knock down a lot of the roadblocks. I wonder if any OEM has considered a crowdsourcing type model for some clubs. Maybe worries about blowback if there aren't enough takers and they have to cancel? -
Have you tried contacting Oakley? What tint is the other lens? At the time the G30 and the VR28 or VR50 (both bronze) were the ones they recommended for golf.
-
For spin and forgiveness I'd say Hot Metal HL or G440 in retro spec.

Yup, it's same as car makers with their halo models. -
New Club Glove Travel Bags - Size?
BlkNGld replied to Walkerdb7's topic in Golf Style and Accessories
That's interesting. I've got a Hybrid 14, and a couple of years ago found some collegiates in a store on closeout (due to the Titleist purchase/rebranding). I tried putting one of the store's H14s into the bag and while it could be done, getting the zipper closed near the top of the H14 took enough effort that it was a concern to me. As far as the fabric goes, had a chance encounter when I brushed by one of the new models hanging in a store. It felt "smoother/thinner". We often associate the coarser feeling stuff as tougher even if that's not always the case, so maybe that's what's behind some of the claims. -

The external straps should snug things up, and I've usually got bags with shoes and other stuff in mine to help fill things out and provide extra club protection without going overweight. -
Hyperflex Carbon vs Premiere Series
BlkNGld replied to onthebogeytrain's topic in Golf Style and Accessories
If you want less rigid, the regular is the way to go, but to my feet the differences weren't apparent except in a side by side comparisons. I was in a position that I could choose either and I just preferred the carbon color ways. -
Hyperflex Carbon vs Premiere Series

I can completely agree with this. Some of those really soft rebound intensive models feel great in the store, but in my case after walking 18 the feet may have felt good, but my calves felt it. It's good the premieres work for you, but I'll just point out the last couple of hyperflex are quite stable, especially the carbon version. In fact, some ding it for feeling firm... in my book that was a plus. -

I haven't have any exposure to the new models post Titleist acquisition but the collegiate model is fine for a true carry bag - the kind with an oval shaped top and 4-6 dividers. If I intended to use it with a hybrid bag or a 14 way carry bag with a larger, rounder top, I'd want to check for fit before committing (or make sure I understand the return policy). -

They can, of course. And they do with others. But for a niche product it's a money loser. It's about more than the time it takes to produce. There is tooling, distribution, stocking of fitting carts, spares for warranty, etc. Companies spend a lot of time trying to minimize part counts. For sure there are costs that go with creating a one off for someone like Phil, but it pales compared to multinational distribution of a product. Regardless if any of us like it or think it's fair, it's telling that a company like Callaway with what looks to be doing more and shorter release cycles not to mention variations on type and color of its drivers and iron sets thinks those will be profitable. If they thought LH XForged would have comparable margins and return on investment they'd surely offer them. Even the argument "XXX company does it, why can't Callaway"? Those companies likely have a different portfolio emphasis, cost structure, and profit goals. Why do you think they choose to not offer in LH? -

Nothing you should give any credence to, given the short time I spent. I was running late and on my way to the register when I happened to pass by them and had a quick look. I put them down at address for a quick glance, yup they're Pings in the same way that a lot of brands have a similar look at address. -

Finally got to see them in person, but not hit them. As others have said, the carbon look is a lot more muted than in photos, but set of 230s on an adjacent display rack does the 240s no favors to my eye. -

This goes back to the question -- "what constitutes a forgiving golf club". Is it ball speed retention across the face? Is it spin retention across the face? (aka spinsistency) Is it high MOI? Is it shot shape correction (twist face) Is it high MPF? If a club helps mitigate my 1 or 2 of my biggest swing flaws, I'm going to think it's the most forgiving thing ever made. Give that same club to someone without those issues and they'll be thoroughly unimpressed. -

Look at address isn't bad at all. Agree that the whatever was allocated to the sole wasn't money well spent. Could have kept the model name that's already there, use the same logo etch as in the cavity and call it a day. -

There is no universal standard for what constitutes 'forgiving', which is why it's relatively easy for an OEM to claim something is "the most forgiving <model> ever". They usually keep it to their own line, not up against someone else's. AGN's is another take (and a decent one IMO) on how to measure forgiveness. -

But to what end? So that someone can claim their putter is zero torquier? I care about 1) being able to make more putts 2) with a putter that I can stand to look at 3) not having to skip a golf trip to buy it. -

Callaway Elyte Night Edition Driver! In-Hand Pics!
BlkNGld replied to knudson81's topic in Tour and Pre-Release Equipment
For those that think this should have been the initial release. How many refused to buy Elyte because it was green? How many will now buy one in black (at a higher price)? How many that have a green one will buy a black one (at a higher price)? Now ask the reverse -- how many would pay extra for a green goblin edition? Whether we like it or not, Callaway will sell more drivers this way than the way some are saying the release should have been done. I'm waiting for a mashup of the last two special editions for the open in Ireland... call it a black and tan 🍻 -

After you see enough of these you start learning how to read between the lines. Reviewers struggle between wanting to preserve their integrity (if nothing to themselves) but they also want to ensure that they keep getting new stuff for content. Often what's not said is at least as key as what is said.
