Titleist 712 AP2s v's Taylor made rocketbladez tour irons.

Anybody compared these two sets?

 

I'm currently gaming the 712 AP2s with KBS tour shafts. I really like them as my bad shot is normally a little low on the face and I find the KBS shafts help to get these shots up into the air more than PX or s300. Im looking at the rocketbladez tour irons as they come with the KBS tour shafts and can be had for a bargain price now. I believe the slot on the long irons are designed to help increase ball speed on low strikes. If this is true they will further improve the results of my normal miss hit shot. I remember seeing the irons in american golf when they came out last year. I remember thinking they looked quite nice. I know they are cast compared to the forged ap2, I've used pings and callaway pro irons in the past and didn't mind the cast feel.

 

Who's had both sets and which did you prefer and why?

I've had both.

We tested that "speed pocket" (there, I said it!). According to trackman, It does nothing but dampen the sound to give the feel of a more "softer" struck shot, I don't know if you ever hit the RocketBladez non-tours but it feels and sounds like you hit a large coconut. After the testing we've concluded that slot thing actually did nothing, for me. Would it help someone else's mishits? Would it help someone with slower swing speed? or would it help someone with a faster swing speed? I don't know, but like most things TaylorMade, it felt very much like a marketing gimmick. Needless to say I sold them.
