New low spin high launch drivers - which ball?

So I have been playing the Penta TP5 for a while now. Am moving to the SLDR as my driver and wondering about going to a higher spin ball now to help with short irons and wedges. Pretty much a TM guy through the bag, so -

 

Thinking about trying the old Taylormade TP Blacks as I remember those as high launch high spin balls but they did feel pretty firm off the putter. Can get mint grade from golfballnut for $15/dozen.

 

Or perhaps I try the new Taylormade Project (a) ball?

 

driver ss is 110, index is 0.2. Mid launch driver swing, gone up in loft to 12* sldr.

 

Have previously played Pro V1s as an alternative to Penta TP5.

 

Other ball I really liked recently all the way through the bag (pre SLDR) was the Callaway SR3, but that was with a R11S driver.

 

Now that the driver itself is low spin I am thinking I can max spin for the scoring clubs.

I don't think changing ball would be a good idea, changing the ball changes every shot just get fitted for the right shaft in the SLDR and the right loft, all of that using the ball you currently play.
Your SS however is to high for the Project (a) and there's no point getting a driver the have low spin then getting a high spin ball to cancel it out stay with what works would be my recommendation but do look at the new Tour preferred as I think you will be impressed.

[/quote]The new Tour Preferred will spin more with the irons and wedges than the TP5 and feel softer if your divots are correctly in front of the ball.. I have been thinking about this as well but there are too many factors that come in into play to say that one ball will be better than another in general. Just as this new driver will take time to fit into, so to will finding the right ball for it and the rest of one's game.
