I have the Blue Hens upsetting Mich. St. on Thursday. Virginia, Wichita St, Kansas, and Arizona round out my final four.
Woof, let's hope not!
Don't worry, we got this. Alledgely, there are pictures resembeling this circulating around the locker room:

You do realize that is a pic of the Blue Hens helmet. Any similarities are not intended or implied. We love our "little sister".

Speaking for Spartan Nation here at the WRX, good luck with your tournament run. Hope to see you at the NC game in "Jerry-land" for round 4.

Well I stand corrected. But I might play in a few more Rose Bowls before starting the little sister talk. Michigan has played in 20 of them, State has played in 24 bowls total.

While I think Denard Robinson would have won the Heisman had Rodriguez stayed at U of M, and Rodriguez was undermined to such a ridiculous degree that there was no way he could have been successful, Dantonio would have been the coach I wanted running Michigan. Maybe this way the AD wouldn't be running the program like it appears he is..

Florida, Michigan St., Creighton, and Duke are my final four. Although I keep flip flopping between Duke and Louisville, and I really want to put Kansas in the final four but I'm not sure if Embid is coming back.
He pretty much broke his back, if he wants any chance at NBA his college career is already over. I think the whole "he might be able to play second weekend" talk was just for the committee and to preserve their high seeding. IMO, it would be the dumbest move ever to try and play in the tourney...but thats just me

Amazing, even when people are talking about MSU, the MSU people can't help but bring Michigan into the conversation....
You gotta be surprised it wasn't the Ohio St guy who was dragging both of them through the mud.

As much as I like talking about football, this is a NCAA Tourney thread. I simply can't wait for tomorrow.

A10 is a VERY solid conference. I did not appreciate Coach K's potshot at them on Sunday morning. Shaka Smart had some interesting comments about that presser in the last 24 hours. IMO there was no need to throw that conference under the bus on Selection Sunday.

Duke played zero out of conference road games this year. Their first road game was in January at ND and they lost. Furthermore, the 6 A10 teams that qualified for the tourney went 8-2 against ACC teams on neutral courts or at ACC locations. Rant over, I just can't stand Duke or Coach K!!!
I can't stand Coach K or Duke either.

Re: the A10, the majority of their quality wins come against each other in conference play. It's hard to say how good they are as a conf., but we'll find out once the tournament gets going. With two 5's, a 6, 8, 10, and 11 seeds; 4 of 6 games A10 is the higher seed. VCU beat Virginia; GW beat Creighton; UMass beat N. Mexico; Dayton beat Gonzaga...I would say that's solid, and good for those teams for scheduling at least one decent non conf. opponnent. St. Louis beat no one out of conf. although they played Wisconsin and Wich. St. tough, still not a win; St. Joe's beat no one, although they played Creighton tough and got smoked by Nova.

Re: ACC vs. A10, only one of those wins was vs. an ACC team that made the tournament; VCU beat Va. early on in the year. Still an impressive record vs. a power conf., and point is served re: Coach K's silly comments...but it all amounts to squat!

Not sure what that means. A top 10 team, top 20 team is that regardless no matter they are in conference or out. I certainly would assume that you wouldnt be questioning the ACC if their wins came mainly from in conference? Good teams are good teams regardless of whether they are in conference or not. You cant really amount to a top 20 team and top 10-20-30 RPI, in the 6th ranked conference without beating quality opponents along the way and being a good team.

Haha this ohio state basketball team was pretty much garbage all season long. Not surprised whatsoever that they lost. Dayton is a very solid team and ohio state straight up can't shoot. The way osu played today is the way they played every game all season long. It's painful basketball to watch. With that said, 25 wins is not bad for what was pretty much a rebuilding year. Excited to see their new recruits come in (3 top 100 guys and are still in play for the #2 overall recruit).

And no, losing is not why osu doesn't schedule dayton. Money is why osu doesn't schedule dayton.

So far i only have 1 game wrong, which was the Cincy/Harvard game. It sucks double because me and a couple of friends put some cash on Cincy at 44-1 in a separate bet aswell. So that was pretty much the worst game to lose LOL.

I've watched more college this year due to all the Canadians being involved, it's been cool for a Canadian basketball fan. Would be great to see Syracuse, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan etc do well since they all feature some canucks fairly prominently.

I hadn't seen Michigan much this year, but Stauskas has as pure a stroke as you'll see. Ennis played well too for 'cuse

You still really believe that? Ohio State, and money.......lol. Please, OSU and BCS schools like that have soo much money they dont know what to do with it.

Like I said, it is simple and its not just OSU that does it. It comes down to OSU/{insert BCS school} thinking there is nothing for them to "gain" and a team like Dayton has nothing to lose. Sure they can invite some cupcake to come and take a beating, but they wont invite teams that would beat them on their own floor.

Considering the fact that Ohio State's Football and Men's Basketball programs are the only 2 profitable sports at the school and those two teams fund pretty much every other athletic program at Ohio State, I would lean towards 'Yes, I still believe that'. I do agree with you though. Ohio State doesn't have much to gain from a game with Dayton. It's a team that is always pretty solid and poses a threat to everyone they play. A loss to Dayton would be bad for OSU while a win is pretty much expected. I wouldn't be shocked at all if that played a role in why OSU won't schedule Dayton.

I've also heard some rumors that Matta simply refuses to play them due to the rivalry with Xavier (which is where Matta started his career). Again, that is purely a rumor. We will never know the true reason why Ohio State won't play Dayton. I simply believe that in major college athletics cash is king.

With that said this Ohio State was one of the worst 25 win teams I have ever seen. Their record, much like their football record this year, was a façade. This team had some serious holes. MSU, scUM and Wisconsin are the only BIG teams who were pretty legit this year. Each of them, however, also have some major holes (like pretty much every team in the tournament this year). I feel this year's tournament is the battle for the tallest midget.

I gotta say, this is pretty rich coming from an Ohio State fan. You've just described most of your football stars the last twenty years, and a few of the basketball stars as well. Hopefully he comes back next year so he can flip the bird to the crowd like one guy I heard about.

And that's Big Ten Player of the Year Stauskas to you.

You're actually quite incorrect about the money situation. I believe it's less than 20 athletic departments that break even. Across the country. Now, part of that is no doubt like a number of charities where a bunch of suits make fairly ridiculous salaries(this is happening at Michigan), but net result is not as rosy as you make it.

There's an "arms race" so to speak on facilities, which is really sucking budgets dry(Oregon, for example, has *3* pools with treadmill bottoms and underwater cameras). Recall as well that the athletic department actually has to cut checks to the school for each athlete's tuition. It's not simply a "we just won't charge you" situtation.

They're not willing to give up a home game, and when you're talking BCS vs mid-major school, it's because of the money. Basketball is down the list of reasons why they won't do it.
