I'm normally in the desert an hour north of the Palm Springs area but will be down in Camp Pendleton for the next month and a half. I've signed up for the Carlsbad City Championship...first tournament in a few months...hope it'll be better than my last one this past spring...

Lake Forest here but not always home per se. Work, when I have it, requires me to be "somewhere in the world" for a given chunk of time and my clubs usually follow. Right now I am home so anyone who wants to get out and play let me know. Can't spend big for obvious (non-working) reasons, but I try to find courses that are interesting to play such as Summerly, Shorecliffs (to really annoy myself), Redhawk, and various other courses. Do note that I mostly end up playing during the week as I loathe the weekend pricing and crowds.

Hopefully whatever I did to my right elbow/bicep will heal here fast (re-injured yesterday) and I can get out and play with some other SoCal players soon.

#2 is a shorter course, kind of boring. #1 is a decent old track. Has a classic L.A. course feel. Mostly flat with taller old trees, couple palms, kikuyu out the wazzu. Really short holes, real long holes decent par 3's. #2 course is maybe like 6000y? Designed by the same guy that did Torrey Pines...old Billy Bell.

Seems 90% of all courses in California were designed by William "Billy" Bell. Well, at least courses over 25 years old.

actually Billy bill's wife would draw out the plans and he would make the course. Billy was originally a dirt guy and not an architect, but one day on a project the architect quit so they had him finish the architecture and he couldn't draw as well as his wife (before computers) and she became his secret course architect.

I'm in SD until I go to law school in the fall. I like to play at the Crossings, Encinitas Ranch, or Steele Canyon, and would definitely enjoy playing with some WRX'ers. I usually play twilight weekdays or mornings on the weekends, and the occasional Friday that I can skip out of work early.

I usually play early sat/sun, and like you I head out to the IE to play. Only deciding to play SF because I'm taking a day off of work and I want to squeeze in 36 (haven't done that since high school lol). Playing the Ike course at industry hills at 630, then lunch and walk the dogs, then SF because it's down the street from where I live.
SF has a resident rate but I'm going to try to use a coupon for being a greenskeeper.org member ($79).
