Some of you will recognise the kind of savage banter going on here - other will no doubt find it all a bit annoying. This is fairly typical of mates having a round in the UK. These guys are all pretty decent players so it's all about getting in each other's brains. Showcasing some new gear as well...

Mark only talks like that when he's with his "best" friends - and if you don't talk like that with your best friends while playing golf - who doesn't talk like that when they play with their best friends? UK humor is not all that much different than it is in the US, they just laugh a lot more.

What is up with those faux grass tee boxes you boys have in the UK? Is this common? I've played all over the country (USA) and I've never seen this before in my life.

We play all winter and grass doesn't grow below a certain temperature so many clubs use mats to avoid damage to teeing grounds from divots or twisting spikes in concentrated areas. Others will put out the markers somewhere off the actual tee box in the semi or similar.

Many clubs also protect their fairways in winter by requiring balls to be placed in the semi rough or having players carry a small (4" x 12" ish) mat around with them.

I watch most videos put up by Mark, also watch Buzza but he only has a few on YouTube. I usually catch up on my viewing on Saturday mornings. I will do that later to see what's new.
