Bubba's contract with PING ends this year

Bubba is in the final year of his contract with PING and now has another major championship.

 

Do you think Bubba will stay with PING and renew his contract or chase the money at the end of the year and look elsewhere? What company would be a good fit?

Hasnt he played Ping's his entire life? remember that putter he used to use that was covered with stickers on the shaft, he grew up playing it and kept it in the bag for the first few years of his Professional career

Hard to see Bubba leaving. Ping always shells out the big money for big players. They always keep multiple major winners on their roster. Plus, Bubba isn't the kind of guy to leave a company sponsorship, especially because of money. Just ask Chris Rosaasen.

They've treated him extremely well, coin aside, and he's been an outstanding Staffer, performance aside.

They're both in it for the long haul, which in today's me, myself & I world, and what can ya do for the fore mentioned three, is a pleasent change.

Wasn't he bought by Oakley? I thought he owned a share of TM before leaving. Clothes and Clubs are very different things, but never say never.

I think everyone is assuming that Nike will try to lure him away, honestly I don't see him as a "Nike guy". I could possibly see Callaway but I don't think they have the recourses to make it tempting enough for him. I think he is a Ping lifer.

I thought he signed a multi-year contract last year with PING and changed his earning this year for giving the money to his foundation instead of him.

Plus he would have to break his contract with Oakley if he goes to TM or even Nike.

I'm pretty sure there's an interview where he says he grew up playing ping, loves ping, etc., wouldn't leave them unless someone gave him "stupid money".

Ping pays bubba's charity, aka no tax. Ping writes it off as tax deductible and charities are tax exempt. Money stays untouched.

There is no way he leaves ping, this only means he will make a lot more money when he renews his contract.

Bubba is a straight feel guy, I doubt he would want to get accustomed to an entire different set up.

given his length, I can see someone offering him stupid money. with that said, i don't think he's stupid enough to take stupid money. on the other hand, if he looks at golf as a temporary profession, might as well cash in. it really all depends on where his mind is at. one thing is for sure, if he wants to continue to impact the game, he'd be silly to switch after 25+ years with a company.

They just re-signed him as well as Ooshuizen and Westwood at the end of '12. Seems like 2 years isn't very long.

I think you're right. Sounds like a lot of sarcasm. Ping never pays big money, even for major champions, and Bubba dropped his royalty deal with TM for a much larger Oakley contract.

He's a non-traditional guy who does his own thing. I think he stays with PING, but I could see Cobra going after him.

Seems Bubba loves the clubs, The other thing would be the people, as in what is his relationship with the PING executives. I would assume it is a corporate priority to re-sign him. People/relationships can influence these things a lot, and (occasionally) supersede dollars.
