A nice deep patina Zing2 BeCu. Easily my favourite putter ever. $25 on Marketplace. Mint OG PING wrap grip and at my preferred 34 inch. Happy day.

They still make putters for japanese market, yes. But those are cheap and probably cast with a milled face.

A Ping 1-A is my latest addition.  The difference in the photos as far as the putter has to do with daylight (more golden) vs overhead indoor lighting (brighter).  It is a later version based on zip code.

 

Happy to have it following on a recent tour of the Ping factory in Phoenix.

 

I have a few questions about this model given I haven't found the answers through several searches here.

 

How long were Ping 1-A putters produced, not including anniversary edtions?

 

Other than the address and company ID, what differences in the putter design was there from start to end?

I started playing a long long time ago and I can say I saw and heard these putters at my club starting around the early to mid 70's. Found one a few years ago but was in such terrible shape, did not age well, nice find!!!

And to respond to a previous post, the Taylormade Truss putter line was a huge success in Japan (def not the case in the states) and it looks like Odyssey Japan (and TM) took notice and it added to their most popular putters (2-ball putter w/ a truss neck hosel?!?! Can't get over the looks. So weird looking

After a quintic session a few months ago, moved to center shafted. Started off in a 11cs and I like it a lot. But I love the roll from the TM insert. But I only like the aluminum insert that started in the spider ex. Tried an ex center shaft and it didn't beat the 11. Have always loved the spider tour but never could get the new insert. 

 

Well, that changed. Myspider tour coming with the aluminum insert and center shafted. Yeah, I know the Pic shows the surlyn insert...just the default Pic that TM displays.

I didn't "just" buy it but the putter I bought last year and have been using is a SeeMore Model B.

Center shafted, 34" with SS grip.

 

I just can't get along with mallet or exotic shaped putters.  I can't feel the strike at all.
