What putter did you just buy ?

Picked this up a week ago for right around $100 from PGA SS. Cut it to 33" and had a super stroke 3.0 installed. I am really liking it so far.

I finally decided to get professionally fit for a putter, and the B60 came out on top (out of 15 different models), followed closely by Anser 2/Newport 2 style heads. My aiming and distance control have gotten much better lately on course. Surprised me actually - I didn't think it would have made that much of a difference!

Thanks very much, I think so too... Although I like the retro copper color too, I'm partial to silver and black finishes.

It was ordered that way from the WRX dept. Many others on the board have had it done. I believe S2S was the first to custom order. Great idea!

S2S and myself (after seeing his putter of course) actually didn't custom order, we bought off the rack and had it sent into WRX to have them apply the StarShot finish (which is probably the same thing they do when custom ordered as well).

Ordering a Scotty Newport, sending it to the custom shop for a circle dot on topline and then counter balanced at 37". I am going to have several nice putters on the BST soon lol.

Last putter I picked up was a Scotty Cameron GoLo S in black with the heel shaft. So far it's been great for inside 15 feet. I'm not sure I like the click sound that it gives off outside 15 feet when I have to hit it harder.

Coming from a 009/ I was pulling a lot of putts with this putter.
The greens were slow and punched and I had to "swing" the putter longer and harder.

Ill give it a far shot once the greens cure.
Someone else in my usual foursome is using the "R" version and absolutely LOVES IT !!!

Wow, what a great putter... especially considering I was only after the bag from the BST ad, but it was hard to turn down an essentially brand new putter for the price. Putter was shortened to 33" although maintains great feel due to a 340g headweight. I will likely extend anywhere from .5" to 1.0" although the midsize Iomic will be put back on (love that grip).

- The lighter milling provides a nice alternative for those that feel the pervasive deep milling craze takes a lot of feedback out of the hit. Still very smooth on center-hits as you would expect from a 303SS head.

- The sight dot is a nice change for the Newport 2 headshape.

- Not too crazy about the graphics, especially the neck. Polished sole is a nice touch, although paintfill needs to be toned down as too many colors make it overly busy.

Bottom line - this thing rolls the rock!

I just picked up this older B60 for pretty cheap. I'm excited for this one. I've never owned a B60 and always loved the design. I guess it's the symmetry of it.

You know, I too never gave the B60 a chance in many years of golfing. Once I gave it a chance, it soundly beat out 15-20 other putters during a fitting!!

Just as with any torched finish, the pics really don't do the rainbow PVD justice.

I can't putt for crap with this thing, and I'll likely never game it but it is a fantastic looking (and feeling) blade. I figured for $70 I really couldn't pass it up - I was kicking myself for not grabbing one of these off RBG, et al when they were blowing them out a few months ago.

Also picked up an Abaco off the bay last night, although it is the raw stainless finish.

No idea which series yet, my best guess is a pro platinum. I do know it's newport 2, says so on the clubface.

Congratulations. Just a superb find!

 

Without seeing photos of the sole and face to help identify, I'd say with that amount of rusting and the shape of the cavity, at this point it's likely to be one of the Classics from 1997: http://www.scottycameron.com/archive/putters/1997/classics_1997.aspx

 

With rusting like that, I'd say it's much less unlikely, but not impossible, for it to be a Pro Platinum while the shaping of the cavity suggests it's not an Oil Can Classic (1999).
