I'm not as well versed as you both, but I've always thought he just stands a bit more upright and that leads to the ball position.

 

I just love the simplicity of his swing and it reminds me a little of MDLTs method.

 

I've been revisiting a bit after my Monte online lesson, as he gave me the backswing drill of hands on the shoulder, pivot, push arms away. When I swing the clubhead back over my trail shoulder using my hands  I hit that EXACT same position. I'm going through the book again and there does seem to be a ton of similarties with Monte and Manny's methods. To me feeling the upper arms rotating in the shoulder socket towards my target I experience all the good stuff. 

 

I definitely was arm - overrun and then stuck and flip on the way down. This seems to undo all of that.

It’s clearly a highly functional swing, but if you watch how he matches his pivot with his arm swing, he is doing multiple things to give himself more room. Examples, backswing pivot is super into his right heel, left arm pinned against chest to create depth, arm swing independent and vertical down, and the most telling thing: pressure trace goes into left heel early. You can see this clearly when his left foot starts spinning. 
 

But, it all fits together, so a good coach wouldn’t teach him out of it, but you wouldn’t let a student copy the address distance unless you were going to teach all the other parts.

Wasn't suggesting anyone should. To me he just goes back and through so fast and committed I can just envision him thinking hands back arms through and the rest of that just being a reaction to that intent to move the entire club fast and at his target

I think that’s a valid insight based on what he does. It is very “arm-centric”
