Anyone thinking the moderation on the site...

I wholeheartedly agree DP. Sort of like the member who hijacked the WRXionary thread. Still can't believe his hilarity hasn't resulted in a lock. ; )

I really enjoyed the 'Reader's Digest' thread, but it would go sideways on occasion and I didn't care for the specific member bashing.

At the end of the day i don't think a thread about moderation is a terrible thing. Most of the feedback has been very positive so i doubt the mods will read this and think anyone is ganging up on them. The website help section never gets any actual traffic

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that they aren't constantly scanning every thread. If something is a violation you need to report it. People will say things like "how come this thread got left open but mine didn't"....they might just not be aware of the other thread. As far as heavy handedness, i've never had any complaints, i think they do a fine job

I think to many people are lacking a sense of humor, have very thin-skin and take golf way too seriously--the like hitting the report button and get the mods involved in way too many threads.

Yes, I agree. One of the posts quoted was actually an exchange between the member and myself. I saw nothing mockable in his post but it was a little heated, as are all exchanges between the two of us. It upset me to see that his post had become the butt of someones joke.

Maybe the better way to do it is quote the post, but add no subjective commentary? Let what was said speak for itself?

Once people started mocking the members with additional (sometimes spiteful/somewhat hurtful) comments, that's a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Chalk I just give you a hard time about your JHawk football team and then you graciously remind me to look at my NIU hoops record.[/quote]

The only purpose of football season is to get me by from baseball season (Royals are always out if it by September) to basketball season. Although, some of my favorite college memories are from tailgating at KU games. My freshman year, the team won 3 games (all at home) and we - the students - tore down the posts each time, carrying one downtown and throwing the other in a pond by the stadium.
