Shivan now you are calling me a slug. I would be very careful with you emotions. We do not know each, and lets keep it that way. The matter is closed.

He was wrong calling you a slug, schmendrick would have been more appropriate. Emote much?

In your eBay claim they were played twice, now it's three times.

Here are three of the heads that the shafts came from, the 6i, 7i and 8i head all still have the weights in them:

Also, everyone here has seen my replies, as they are posted above. If they are filled with emotion, it's probably understandable to most people, however I believe I dealt with you on a factual level, and rebutted your off-the-wall claims in a professional manner.

As everyone can see, there are two sides to every story. The bottom line is Orangeruffy stated the matter is closed. Although this thread has been entertaining to read, let's don't go down the he said / she said path and leave this thread with a feeling that hopefully Shivan was able to buy a piece of equipment to play the rest of the year with the money he made from the shafts. And Orangeruffy found the shafts that will help him shoot darts to the flags. A win win for all.

Plenty of golf left to play.

Shivan I could of taken this to the next level and got all my $ back and the potential to keep the product. I felt that was not right either and took me a few days to thing about it. I got this advise from a professional Ebayer. Was not trying to screw you but wanted to start a negotiation.

This site was started a long time ago due to the OTHER site were name calling and general disrespect was common. Richard started this thing along time ago. Took me 3 years before I became a member. Just lurked. I know you dont know the history. But this game we all love is a gentlemans game.

Why did you email me to come onto this site? IN my mind this is the past. You got your money and I got my shafts. If I were to act like you have been I would have gone to eBay and gotten my money, but I was partially to blame and did not think it was right to totally leave you out in the cold. Its funny you are acting like a thug. Get the approval of the pack. You know somebody does something stupid and the rest of the pack jumps in. When its over they all wonder why they did it?

I see you're living the values.

Obviously you were unhappy when you received the shafts. Why not contact the seller immediately? No money match excuses. Contact seller, send back as received, done. Once you altered the shafts and played them for 3 rounds, they became your shafts.

I agree scjr. And in the post above he claims he could have gotten a full refund AND kept the shafts. I doubt even Ebay would go along with that one. Another one to the block list.

I believe this issue and thread should be closed and removed from the sight. This type of bickering does not belong here.

Bottom line is if the shafts were "not as described" from the listing then you should have immediately informed the seller that they were not as described and returned them as is...regardless if you had a money match the next day or not that's the risk you take buying used. Once you performed work and installed them you accept the condition they were in. You then played 3 rounds with them. Can you 100% guarantee something might not have gone wrong that you couldn't see as you were drilling out the tip weight? You could have damaged the tip then causing the shaft to break when you played it. Had you not drilled out the tips and returned them immediately then this whole situation would have been avoided.

I'm confused as to why you think eBay would have given you all your money back and let you keep the shafts?

Did the OP notify you of this posting before you decided you didn't want to leave him out in the cold...you know with no money and no shafts? You yourself admit you are partially to blame...that is a partially correct statement. You are 100% to blame for the shaft breaking. The item wasn't as described and you should have returned it...no if ands or buts about it. Except you had that money match you wanted to play in and I'm sure they performed great there?

I don't think OP originally started this looking for the "approval" of others. He handled the situation how he felt it needed to be handled and others that agree with him voiced their opinion. I myself won't look back at this and wonder why I looked at it the way I did. Had it been me and I drilled the tip weights out and 3 rounds later one broke I'd think it was most likely something I did on the install, and the buy a new one myself and the seller would have never heard a word about it

Holy Smokes. Shivan this is not the place to put out a business transaction but since you want to put it out there.....

When I received the shafts the 3i -7i shafts still had the entire graphite tip weight in them. The 8i-PW had the heads of the tips missing, with only the shaft of the former weight still epoxied in the shaft extenting approximately 1" into the lenght of the shaft. Hmmm, how do I address this. Spoke with some of the club fitters I know to get advise.

In your discription in your eBay add there was no mention of tip weights in the add nor where there any clear pictures showing the tip/shaft weights. If I would of seen these I would of not bought them.

Any of you tinkers out there...... This was a callenge and I needed some shafts since I had a big game coming up and the recoil 110 f4 were spinning like a beach ball and falling out of the sky.

I have a drill press in the golf work room that goes with my belt sander, Mitchel machine etc.....

How do I get these tip weights out? Do I send them back? 2 days before my money match........, I can do this!!!

After about 3 hours I got the weights out. Lots of cold cloths wrapped around graphite shafts and drilling ever so slowly. Drill alittle bit, check for heat, Drill alittle bit, check for heat...........

Ordered the ferels from Cell Parts Manufacturing. Damn these look good!!!

Went out to play. 3rd time I used the shaft It snapped at the ferel and hosel. How could this be? I used glass beads in the epoxy when I put these together so no part of the shaft was touching the hosel.

Ask the seller for a replacement 8i. Tried to start negotiations. His responses were less than graceful and filled with emotion. Was going to take it up the food chain and then thought to myself why bother with someone who reacts like this. I closed the request yesterday or the day before. I have better things to do with my time than deal with people like this over 350 bucks. Bought another 8i shaft and I am all set.

If you have any other thoughts come to me directly and dont put it out there on forums such as this. As for me, this matter is closed. You have no idea how much golf equipment I purchase yearly, but certainly it will not be from you.
If removing tip weights from shafts causes you this much trama you do not need to work on any clubs. Period. Removing tip weights is about as difficult as drinking out of a straw. You clearly have no clue what you are doing and tried to stick it to the seller

give him some credit, when he figured out he wasn't going to be able to screw the seller over he did at least give up and act as if he was doing the seller a favor by doing the right thing

I don't think OP originally started this looking for the "approval" of others. He handled the situation how he felt it needed to be handled...
In my first post, I made it clear that I was seeking guidance. I felt that this community of golfers would guide me correctly on how to proceed. I wanted to know the right way to handle it, not a group of "Yes" men.

In this case, I wasn't sure and decided to consult a community of experts from diverse backgrounds, and with the anonymity of the internet, figured I would get the truth -- one way, or another.

I have bought, and sold, hundreds of thousands of dollars online over the last 15 years, my primary passion being Title II firearms. I've always tried to do the right thing, even when it's been a hardship to me.

Use the "Send Buyer a Message" link before you decide to open a case out of the clear blue. Opening with a non-hostile communication, like an email, can go A LONG way towards an amicable resolution.

I understand that not everyone is a "golf tinkerer" but removing a tip weight requires a heat gun and pliers and about 5 minutes of time. It is one of the easiest things to do. As for the shaft breaking, especially after your "several hours" of tinkering as well as THREE rounds of play, that is absolutely, 100% on you. The OP had zero reason or duty to replace or refund you for a shaft that broke after you had removed the tip weight, prepped, beaded and epoxied, and then played several rounds. I don't care how much golf gear you buy every year, I wouldn't sell to you, sir.
