Tested the SLDR Driver

Perhaps. But I gamed the superdeep for nearly 4 years, seeing how the sldr 430 is pretty much a more forgiving superdeep, can't see it leaving my bag anytime soon.

But then again, I'm the type if player the sldr 430 fits well. Center face, high spin player.

I think stock length and weight have a lot to do with the inconsistencies found by some...........I will admit that I grip down to find the proper balance........swingblade, your historical theory makes sense but remember most that use taylormade drivers move each year as the models are released. .......I don't think it will prove success or failure. ..the SLDR has been on tour for roughly a year and along with the jetspeed , have many bags in which they are in.......handful of r11 and r11-s. .....even less r1's ........the marketing machine and tour presence pays out large for taylormade and being the big dawg brings critics. They survive and continue to try to provide the best product possible. I will hit the next model obviously but as it stands I'm as happy with my driver as I've ever been.......looks , sound and performance with the WHITE SLDR 12* #bestdriverEVER. :-)

I'm anxious to hit mine. Hopefully at the range early tom morning before my wife has to go to work.

I went from 245 yard drives in the sim (albeit with a swing that comes across my body to an inside out swing) to 285 yard drives. While I was hitting my driver I was shown my swing flaw, corrected it as much as I could and was then hitting 265 yarders with it before grabbing a SLDR 430 TP. Then I started driving them 285, maxing out at 304. I have never sniffed 300 even with a cart path. Hope the swing/club translates to the course like I hope.

When I had the stock shaft and settings, the SLDR was just ok. Now, with an Aldila NVS shaft playing at 44 inches and the head dialed down to open the face up, it's without a doubt the best driver I've owned and the best I've ever hit a driver. Get the correct shaft and loft and this driver is the best out there.

I am still gaming a first generation SLDR 460 that I got at release last August. I have tried most drivers out there (including the G30 yesterday), and nothing yet can beat the SLDR. I still don't understand all these comments about the SLDR 460 being short on mishits. All drivers are shorter on mishits. I have found that the SLDR 460 to be more consistent than most.

I have hit the sldr a few times outside. It definitely seemed to have a decent ball flight. I think the head is fine. Didn't really seem any more or less forgiving to me. But the stock speeder 57 did nothing for me. I would be curious to hit it with something a little heavier.

I can't quite explain it, but the 430 is the winner for me over the 460. Theoretically it should be less forgiving, but my swing just loves it. I also ho back and forth between a Bio Cell +.

Don't know what all the fuss is about. Just hit a 9.5 with stock shaft. Launched mid-high and spun like crazy. Just like everything else... needs the correct shaft.
