Can someone give me some tips on how to improve my swing my arms seem to far behind me.

David,

Has to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. What scenery. Lots of good things in your swing too. Critiquing-wise...

Summary:

a) Turn the shoulders perpendicular to the spine
b) Then learn to transition with hip rotation

Details and what to observe in your video:

Starting with the shoulder turn and arm flow going back. The goal will be to turn your shoulders perpendicular to the spine. They currently turn more with the horizon. More left shoulder down as the right lands more up and behind the head. With videos or mirror, this shoulder turn improvement needs to be coupled with continuing to have your left arm bisect the shoulder line at the top which will raise the arm flow up on a better plane.

Observe your initial movements in transition -- you bow downward toward the ball in order to put the arm flow on plane AND to further that effort the shaft drops vertically downward and under the plane. This is why you have the feeling that the club is behind you. It is more a matter of it being under plane. This again goes right back to the matter of getting the shoulders to turn less horizontally. This will probably "feel" like the arm flow is too high but your camera and videos will show you it is all merely a function of the shoulder turn.

The new transition will need to be lead by the lower body rotation versus the current correction of moving the head and chest as far downward as you do now. The lead hip seems to swing out and around toward the ball going back while the trail hip seems fixed. The trail hip will need to deepen a bit by allowing it to drift and inch or two form the two line in the back swing. This will allow the hips to open in the DS and leave lots of room for the improved arm flow coming down. The club will feel like it moves a little more if front of the chest for a longer period of time rather than just for and instant through impact.

A front on view would be helpful when you get a chance -- there could be some issues there to explore as well.

It could be camera angle related -- but the trail hip appears to be purposefully opened a few degrees during your setup -- as though you do so consciously. Again this could be the angle. You just want to make certain the shoulder line isn't pointing leftward while the hips point more to the right.

I can't really confirm that your arms are late. A face on view would help. If you are right though you might try starting the down swing by letting your arms fall into the slot before activating your body.

Your arms swing is too flat. Then your head works out to the ball too much and traps them more.

As monte said, arms swing too in and across body, head goes a little forward as a counter balancing move but gets you more stuck. From there all you can do is stall the pivot, stand up and flip

Thanks I will try and work on some of these things. When I try to get my arms up higher i seem to flip at it more.

Don't raise your arms to get more vertical. Extend your arms more and let them stop when your pivot stop. This will keep the arms in front of you without being higher.
