Golf Club Travel Bag

Golf travel Bags my old one is on it's last leg. What are others here using? Suggestions?

I use a Club Glove Burst Proof with Wheels II with a Stiff Arm. If you have a larger golf bag, then a Club Glove Last Bag with a Stiff Arm.

Sun mountain club glider. The retractable front wheels are a HUGE back saver. Super easy to pull/push around and never have to bend over anymore to pick it up.

Came from club glove burst proof and have never looked back!

Do you use Club Glove Stiff Arm or is it not needed? Thank you for input

SKB hard case for me. No stiff arms, no wrapping clubs in towels.....zero worries about damage.

One more for a Club Glove. Have over 100 trips on mine and it shows very little wear. The hard sides are pain to store when you get to your destination and to fit in rental cars.

Club Glove Last Bag. I've had it over 10 years and it still looks like new. I forgot I had a Stiff Arm and bought the Sun Mountain version for a recent trip to Myrtle Beach, which seems a little sturdier and easier to raise/lower (there is a button on the top). It worked great.

I have used an Ogio Monster for 20+ trips and never had a problem. I use a stiff arm with it. The club glove is great but I believe the Ogio is a little more cost effective.

I had one of those before my Club Glove. My friends called it "the coffin". The problem with hard cases is that they do not fit in the trunk of anything other than a mid 70s Cadillac or Lincoln.

I use a stiff arm as it's a soft case. It's pretty much just like the burst proof bag but the plastic base has retractable wheels. I do not like using hard cases because they're impossible to fit in a midsize rental.

This applies to everyone with a club glove and would appreciate any feedback. Any issues with the soft sides? If I packed a Ping Hoofer would you be concerned about any damage to shafts both graphite and steel. Say a piece of luggage falls on the side, or in TSA case gets thrown onto it.

Ogio travel bags are pretty cool. But make sure you buy one of these if you buy a softshell travel bag.

Well aware of the stiff arm necessity. My concern is putting a soft bag without any structure in a soft travel case.

For those with the Sun Mountain I have a question. I have the Club Glove last bag as well as the rolling duffle. Both of these are made to roll together with the handle of the Last Bag fitting over the pull up handle of the rolling duffle. They work great together and are easy to maneuver. To see how it works go to the Club Glove website and look at the video. What do you do with your other luggage with the Sun Mountain. It would appear to me that you still have a problem with your other luggage having to be pulled with the other hand.

I have what I would consider to be a Club Glove "knock off" bag. It is called the Chauffer 3. Got it from TGW. It was something like $69 or $79 when I bought it 10 years ago. It has been around the world 3 times and probably 30 trips inside the US and never a problem. It really has protection just like the Club Glove bag at probably a 1/3 of the price. It will handle my Tour size bag. It is tight fit but it does fit. I also use the Stiff Arm.

Anybody use the Nike Travel Cover? From what I've been told it has molded sides for a little more protection. I'm a little reserved throwing roughly $3500 in clubs to the hands of the tsa.

I also have the OGIO monster and it's got a structured bottom with a skid pad and a hat and shoe compartment. It's big enough to fit a staff bag if you're smart with it. I carry a midsize in mine.

I got mine on craigslist for 80 bucks and it's been awesome.

Easy for 6 guys to carry, but it requires a special station wagon-like car when back on the ground.

 

I don't think it will get stolen from the cargo belt either.

It's not the TSA you have to worry about when it comes to damage, it's the baggage handlers.

[/quote]The last time I flew with my club glove using the stiff arm, I was shocked when I opened my bag to find the TSA sticker indicating my bag had been checked but also the top of the stiff arm had been unscrewed and was lying in the bag. I was lucky nothing happened but my bag has been checked every time on a domestic flight and my clubs are never where they are supposed to be.
