My Trip to MB

Been back from Myrtle Beach for close to a week. It was terrible weather for Saturday, Sunday and part of Monday. Lucky i didn't golf till Tuesday. Kid's were not happy with pool being closed but oh well.

8/5 - Pawleys Plantation - Course was it great shape but the greens were still super sandy, i am thinking from maintenance. Tee boxes, and fairways were in great shape and POP was about 4.5 hours not slow but not fast, I had a tale or two nine, back nine was horrific for me, couldn't hit an iron to save my life. Drove it well but wasted all of those drives. Played with two gentleman that worked for Hershey's and they were awesome to play with on the course. The cart lady was around many times and was a very attractive older lady. The Bag drop attendant was awesome, kid from New York that teased me about the Penguins. Pro Shop guy was great also very polite and curious. Driving range was very nice and so was putting green. Overall i really liked the course and would play it again.

8/7 - Founders Club at Pawley's Island - These guys don't get there early, i am from the north who is used to go early to warm up and get body moving. Well i had first Tee time at 7:30am they didn't open pro shop up till 7:25am. We went over to practice green and hit a few putts but didn't have time to hit into the net. Played with a Father and Son from NY. Very nice people to play golf with and enjoyed the round. Played light years better and could actually hit my irons. Course was ok, tee boxes were good at some and brown on others but overall were not terrible. Fairways were decent with more roll then expected, waste areas were waste areas smooth and not terrible to hit out of unless you found some longer grass. Greens were SLOW, and not great could have been better. No Beverage cart was found at all, no issue i had my own drink. POP was incredible 3.5 hours and we didn't hurry just kept moving and we all played well.

Overall i had a great time in MB, i now have crossed these off my list of courses needed to play. It will be 2 years before i continue my golf adventures in MB seeing we are going to Disney next summer(golfing there also).

Glad you had a great time with the golf. I'm hoping to get back to MB next summer to play, hopefully play Caledonia and True Blue the same day.

A bit of info on Disney golf. We went there in the spring and I played Champions Gate International. Its a Greg Norman course. It was nice but not worth the prices at that time of year. I paid $79+tax for a 3:00 tee time. I wouldn't pay anymore than that and probably wouldn't do it again.

Just back myself

Like golfing in a sauna

Has been a lot of rain so most fairways very soggy. Sea level golf with no roll can be emasculating

Played Whispering Pines day 1. Good routing and some stout holes. Greens avg. No real complaints for 28 bucks. Conditions no great since the city took over from the Air Force.

World Tour day 2. Half good holes and half meh. Greens awesome. Service awesome. Some of the replica holes were fun

Day 3 was True Blue. Loved Strantz's work. Only negative was greens punched 20 days ago and low spots in the fairways were swampy. (There was so much rain the previous week they actually closed the course for 2 days). Visually stunning but generous off the tee. Me likey that combo

Prestwick was day 4. Mint conditions. Great routing. Some beastly holes. Much better with most green complexes softened somewhat over the years. Hit 16 greens but not a bird !
