TM Project (a) for High swing speeds

Hello all,

 

Just started playing the Project (a) over the last 3 rounds. My driver swing speed is 109-111 MPH 7 Iron is 91-93 MPH. I have a decent driver speed but have a high iron swing speed.

 

Previously was playing Titleist Pro V1x. Obviously a great ball.

 

Now not to offend anyone but the Project (a) is money from 200 yards in. Irons, putting, chipping, all great. As far as driver I honestly feel it is comparable to the Pro V.

 

I wanted to see if anyone else in the 105 SS or higher are using this ball.

 

Love to hear the thoughts and also what other non premium ($40 plus) balls higher SS players are using.

I'm not as high as you with SS (about 105 driver), but I really like this ball too. I'm not much of a spin player around the green so that is not an issue for me.

I've found it gives me at least adequate distance, feels good off the club, and is pretty durable. Plus I like the double digit numbers.

For $25 a dozen I find it performs (for me) just as well as the high dollar balls.

I have a driver SS of 118ish when I go after it (which I do most of the time) but an iron SS of about 86. I really like the Project A ball. I got a free sleeve from TM when they were released and they were great. I have yet to see them for $25 but at $40 I think they are too high for me. I would certainly buy them for $25. I felt they spin a little less than a ProV which I consider a good thing.

I have been using some & do really like them. Still have some of the old TP reds & blacks, Pentas, & Lethal. I tend to like the Project (a) better that the other TM balls. However the Pro VX is still king for me.

I'm a 110-112mph swinger and I did like them too! They're quite expensive here..
Won a dozen Callaway supersoft last week and like those even more to be honest. Takes a little getting used to though.

How is the pricing as oppose to say Prov1s in your area?

Here locally Pro V1s are $48/dozen. I can get the Project(a) dozen for $27-$29

I'm only low 100s these days but still like high ss balls. I got a box of these for fathers day so won't be able to test them til after next weekend, but looking forward to giving them a run. Will post my findings post round.

big fan of this ball as well. in fact its been the only ball ive consistently played with and sought out at the stores. tons of feel off the putter and around the greens, it spins well and the distance is comparable to anything ive played with.

I bought a box ten days ago, and I have played three rounds with them so far. Finally had to take the first ball out of play after hitting a second cart path. My prior go to ball was the ProV1x. I feel like I am getting comparable distance on all shots with really good feel on chips and putts. At $32 per box at Academy Sports, I will be sticking with this ball for the forseeable future. I tried several other balls, including the Callaway SS, and while I liked that ball ok, I did not think I was getting the same distance off the tee, and my putts and chips were not as consistent speedwise.

Well I've taken them out a couple times and I can say that although they aren't quite as good as the chrome plus, they are still a good ball. I think they are more comparable to the ProV1, a soft 3 piece urethane designed for slower swing speeds. I think regular ProV1 users would really like the Project a, but maybe not V1x/Chrome +/B330/SRIXON XV users.

High swing speed guy here. For me they perform in all aspects. Good feel, good distance, plenty of pinch.

I previously played Lethals for all of 2013 and into the Spring of 2014 and played well with them unless it was really windy, which is all winter really where I live. The windy conditions I have played in with the Project(a) indicate it will perform well in the wind as well
