Srixon W-403AD
Guys at 415-420cc's this thing is a pure rocket launcher!!! The technology is completely up to date and after a getting used to period the sound is just explosive!! A few on this board know exactly what I'm speaking of.................. Where has this thing been all my life??

Being Lefty it is hard to try the latest and the best but I have stepped forward and made an attempt :) Taylor,Nike,Cally,Titleist you name it my bag has seen it.Some have had longer stays than others with moderate success. But something was ALWAYS missing..............until now!!! Feel,Control and plenty of Distance with tons of Forgiveness, did I miss anything??

Let the Retro-Srixon revival BEGIN!!!!

The W-403AD is a great driver, as is the 506. Srixon's product as a whole is criminally underrated by many people. I just picked up a set of the I-506's that I am considering playing, and one of the first sets of irons I owned, and one of my favorites, are the I-201's. Congrats on the find.

I´m from Europe. Last month I played 14 days in Florida. My driver is the W-506, which has the same technologie as the W-403. On driving ranges

I was often asked what driver I´m using-the lenght and sound would impressed them. Most did´nt know that Srixon makes such drivers.

Srixon goes another way in driver tech-the impact power body-and it works, for me better than any other driver.

Robert allenby is still hitting it if i recall correctly. I just took the 506 plunge my self and am quickly converting to the Srixon bandwagon. It seems every player on tour the made the switch quickly jumped in the world rankings and had imidiate success. Look at Furyk Stenson, Allenby, Rollins and Clark those guys are all playing well....Hell Karrie Webb can out of the dungeon and back into the spotlight after making the switch. Im very impressed with their product and the 506 irons are quite possibly the best ive ever hit.

Cheers

ijha brings up an interesting point ... swoosh, any plans on reshafting?

It came with a MCC(Matrix) MFS 65..............says KJ Choi signature series. pretty stable shaft but got a GD Pershing 65 waiting if there is any slippage in production :)

One of the most under-rated driver shafts ever in my opinion although I'm a bit biased.....Matrix does make quality shafts, even at the low end of the $$ spectrum....

Don't know about their driver but after finding a couple of their balls at the Nissan on the other side of the range net I put them in play during my next round. Result: Lowest round for me on a 142 slope.

Srixon Rocks!

These were the Z-UR C, great distance, amazing bite with the short irons, super feel off the putter.

Titleist Pro VX GONE, Srix-ON!

I'm gonna put Marvin The Shark on the side of my car!

I do like their golf balls, but the drivers have never impressed me much. But I have never hit them with the correct shaft...

I'm finding that some heads really need certain heads while others can take anything.............. got two rounds this week to find out if this the right shaft or will I need a slightly heavier shaft. The head though is very solid feeling even being slightly louder than the 905R.

I'm not seeing the aluminum can feel/sound like cobra or the Nike SQ and the nice thing is even the misses still feel solid if that makes any sense.

This club is similar to the Cleveland Comp that I regretfully got rid of. Yep that's it this is a more explosive feeling Cleveland Comp!!! :)

I play the srixon W-302 series, talk about retro, 380ccs, 7.5* of loft, 1* tour buldge and roll. Remeber when drivers still looked like drivers? Shafted with Ozik Altus this thing is gorgeous to look at and flat out perfomrs long mid launch...higher peak, and great angle of descent, hits the ground running.

From toying with a 506, i've come up with a few shaft picks that feel really good to me in the head.

1. Fuji E370

2. Fuji Rombax 7X07

3. Aldila VS Proto 60

4. any of the GDI Tour AD's

5. Accra SE 70*

6. MCC MFS Matrix

7. Redboard 73

Yeah, the feel is incredible. These of course all fit my ballflight... but all of these shafts are made in lighter/heavier versions.

Note- the rombax and redboard combos are CANNONS!

****UPDATE***** Well other than shaft swapping this head , the Srixon W-403AD :D should be in my bag for a long time!!! F-orgiveness, A-ccuracy, D-istance............. but this isn't a F.A.D. it is the real deal!!! This club is superior to most others heads out, but without the Big name is goes pretty much unnoticed. Oh well the loss of many who choose not to find out the truth.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!! :beach: Come on in and join the revolution.............. or get beat by it!!! :cheesy:

My wife has a 302 cut to 44"...longest most consistent driver she has had. She is in love :D

I had a W-506 last season. Great driver. Didn't have the right shaft for me, and too much loft. But man, very straight and had a nice feel at impact. I gave it to my buddy and he is hitting it like a champ. Has kind of a Titleist D1 triangular shape about it, but not so pronounced. It's one driver I definitely wouldn't mind picking up in a lower loft and trying again.

Saw your reviews during my search and was gonna PM you...............yeah the feel is very solid and I'm digging the metallic sound now esp. in a good looking club like this. Very much the predecessor to the FT-5 and 907 D1 so the accuracy is unparalleled with awesome Forgiveness and plenty of distance.

Shaft-wise I'm going to find the perfect one without going crazy :D

Three rounds this week with this club and I shot rounds of 73,74 and 73 again. Stayed in play and just couldn't buy a putt!!! The confidence standing on each tee was a tremendous asset for the low, consistent scores.

My friends who have seen me go thru drivers like underwear commented on the solid sound and the control I had.In fact one guys' son is now on Srixon staff and he picked up the 506 driver and irons :cheesy: Won't play until after the Masters with Spring Break and all but what a nice way to go into a downtime!!!

What do you think about the 506 with the diamana white. Mitsubishi recomands this combo with the diamana white 63.

OK *******NEW UPDATE******* Spring break is over and I play today with my re-shafted W-403AD.This was done with a Graphite Design Pershing 65 stiff. This shaft likes to be swung not hit so a small adjustment was made on my part. The course was a fairly wide-open 72 with 5 par-5's, 5 par-3's and 10 par-4's. My playing partners weren't the best but did keep things moving.

With proper tee height and longer swing I found the slot to hit long carrying ,fairway finding shots!!! I found the reliability of this club to be extremely high and repeating. Never hit a double-cross shot(aim for fade and get a pull) The sound is not as muted as I would like but is still pleasing............with a few more rounds under my belt I might be able to make the full comittment :busted2:

Followed up today with a 5 birdie 71; one under par round and the Srixon/Pershing 65 combo excelling even more!!! I can't believe how accurate and forgiving this head has been and coupled with the GD Pershing.................LONG!!!! I haven't been this enthralled with a driver for me since my TM R510(non-TP 330cc model).

Guys I can't gush enough and I hope this ends my struggles.............. Until my next round!!!
