After growing up playing with my Dad, then growing up and moving away from him I miss our frequent rounds. Now 12 hours apart, any day on the course with Dad is a great day no matter how bad we play.

Cheers to all the fathers and sons who have played or still play together.

Played this past Saturday with my dad at a local muni. He's 85 now, and still can move it around the course somewhat. He shot 106, 6000 yard course (par 35, we go around twice), which is really good for him nowadays. He's a terrible chipper and putter, too, but managed to par a 450 yard par 5 even though his good drives go maybe 140, by making a 25 footer. Once he loosened up (I warm up more than he does!) after about 3 holes he started to hit the ball pretty solid... lots of ground balls before that... I try to get him to warm up but there's no way... far too stubborn!

He also managed a par on a 350 yard par 4 with a small pond in front of the green. I talked him into hitting his longest fairway wood for his 2nd shot, when he insisted he'd put it in the water... came up about 10 yards short. I tell him "listen to your caddy!".

The jokes have been the same for the last 30 years... lol
