Double Connexion and Putting Books - Clear Key Golf - Carey Mumford

Hello - I've just learned that Carey Mumford passed away and that his books, Double Connexion and The Putting Book, are not currently available and don't know if or when in the future they will be available. Does anyone have an e-copy they could share?

Just tried to purchase from the site and it currently is still unavailable. I was very sorry to hear about Carey Mumford. If somebody could loan me a copy for now, I will definitely purchase an official copy from the site when it is available.

Update: I’ve made contact with someone that has all of Carey’s books in a personal hard drive. They haven’t shared it with me, but I may assist them with releasing them online.

Woohoo! that would be great. Have been keeping an eye out for the double connexxion for over a decade (i should have just bought the pdf of his site when still available). 
fred greene from the golf smarter podcast had some shoes with/about Dr Mumford. He might have a digital copy of his books.

I thought he might, too. I reached out about a year ago and sadly he doesn’t. I’ll keep everyone posted once I hear something.

I took the course back in 2008 and I still have the info that Carey sent to me.  I took a look at the files this morning and it all seems to be personalized results of the personality tests that I took.  I have an exe called KeyCD.exe but it will not run and I don't remember what it was for.  It may have had something to do with reading the book.  I have an internet friend who was really into double connexeon and met Carey Mumford.  I am trying to get a hold of him to see if he can help out here.  So far, no luck on that one.

I am that friend.   knew Carey well...he was my mental game mentor and wrote the forward to the book I wrote. I spent a week with him in Crossville, TN to get the "full program". He was one of the kindest  and most unselfish people I have knew. He always returned my calls and took as much time answering my questions as if were one of his PGA Tour Players. Nels55 is correct the original "Double Connexion" ebook was delivered as a downloadable executable file that installed on your pc only. He used that process as the body of his work was proprietary and unique and several bad actors had pirated it and called it their own. Every time I changed pc's I would have to get another code!

 

One of the things that came with the book was his playing profile analysis - in the book he describes the four basic playing styles Driver, Persuader, Craftsman, and Analyzer. Think of the golf version of the DISC / Myers-Briggs personality types profiling. A big part of the book describes these four personality types and the importance of practice and playing according to your type versus who "you think you are". It changed my game.

 

As to the book, a couple of options - First his son is - or was a PGA teaching professional, you could try and look him up. His first name escapes me. The second way would be to contact Bird Golf Academy, whom Carey was affiliated with. They wrote a nice piece on him when he passed. Other than that pretty much out of luck....if you search for Carey, Double Connexion, you come up blank - even his domain clearkygolf.com returns a 401 not found error. KeyCD sounds like the installer for many different program types in old Windows days.  It probably is not running now because either (a) it's missing other data files that go with it or (b) your virus detection blocks all exe files because they have been known to contain all kinds of malware

I believe you are correct; I found the same file and quickly realized it was incomplete as I guess a file or a connection was missing

 

i have used the internet Archive to peruse Mr. Mumford’s old site. Some additional information but not all we are looking for.

FWIW, I have an unlock code that (at one point in time) worked at the www.clearkeygolf.com website. Now that code is just a souvenir 😪

Carey and I worked together for over a decade.    I did a couple of podcasts with a USA golf site during Covid on the subject of Clearkeys and profiling to perform better. 
 

for those who are interested Carey asked me to write a book before he passed away.   4D Pyramid Coaching for Sport and Business is out there. 
 

Careys books were all online down loads.  So what access there is, is copywrite limited.    
 

Carey loved that Clearkeys has seen use in other sports down under.

Hello-

 

I met Carey at a PGA seminar for Class A  professionals in the Bay Area around 1994-1995. I was blown away by his presentation and was lucky to have a couple beers with him after the seminar. I purchased his book from him The Double Connection (which I still have). I have incorporated what I learned into my teaching including loaning it to some of my students over the years.

 

I was fortunate to meet and speak with the original “Mr. 59” Al Gieberger at Olympic Club in the late 90s. Carey had told me Al was one of his clients. I asked Al about him and Al lit up and started talking about Carey’s book. That certainly validated the impact Carey’s teaching had on professional golf and golfers of all levels…not that I needed it.
 

I made a digital copy to preserve it due to a fire in my office. I am replying to this thread due to the unavailability of his book. I wouldn’t violate any copyright right laws and not looking for any monetary compensation but if there’s a way to share the book (perhaps to his son who could re-publish it) I’d be happy to pay it forward and send it along.
