bi matrix is the most accurate shaft in golf

this is definative proof. i shafted a cleveland launcher dst with a regular flex low cost decent quality shaft i have used many times and played around of 18 holes with it. it was so bad i didnt hit a single fairway in the round. ball went a mile just foul balls tiger woods would be proud of on his worst day. i almost juked the head but remwmbered i had some true temper bi amtrix shafts unused i bought off ebay. i shafted the cleveland with one in r flex and played today. wow-cant believe its the same club. hit every fairway today . distance is slightly down but the accuracy is unreal.

i have re shafted another driver that also was all over the place too. its lazer straight now too. well mabey definative proof is too strong a term but there shure is one heck of an improvement. too bad this shaft now costs 80$ a pop. the price might keep the casual builder from trying this experiment. i paid something like 20$ a shaft when they were on closeout . hard to believe this shaft was a huge failure for truetemper

I will attest to this being a very accurate shaft. I've been playing one in my 913D3 for the past month or so with excellent results. Before this shaft it wasn't uncommon for me to have a good driving day and still lose 2-3 balls a round (home course has lots of elephant grass). Since using this shaft I have had several rounds without losing a tee shot. This shaft may play shorter but with my increased confidence I'm hitting the ball just as far. I played 36 holes this past weekend 1 under par with a mediocre wedge game. Until this year I have never shot under par for 18 holes. I have a lot of confidence in this shaft and really want to try it in the new 915 head.

My set up is a 913D3 8.5* currently set at D1, Bimatrix X-stiff tipped .5", playing length ~44.75".

If you don't like an extremely stiff tip shaft then it probably isn't for you. It suits me great as I play an X200 tipped 4" in my 3wood with excellent results.

It didn't take a strong hold of the market because it's been established that with composite material tech today, steel is no longer stiffer/more stable by default. Years ago, this wasn't the case.

Glad it works for you, that's all that actually matters.

Glad the Bi-Matrix worked for you, but I'd say that any properly shaft that's properly fitted to a person will be highly accurate. As for low cost good quality shafts, there are plenty of them out there. Pro Launch/PL Red, Pro Force V2, NV/NVS/VS Proto, etc., etc.

I agree it does seem sorta gimmicky, and I don't see me turning into an old guy 30 years from now playing this shaft from the gold tees. But, it does help one know what to look for when trying to get fit for a new shaft since it is on the extreme end of tip stiffness. At a 2.0 torque rating, the Bimatrix has a lower torque rating than any graphite shaft I've seen (doesn't mean there isn't, but I haven't seen one). With that said, the graphite shafts that do get near that are very expensive in comparison (shafts such as the Rogue Silver 125msi get down to the 2.2 torque range I believe).

all mine are from the old era too so i cant say about the current but i did ask an expert club fitter/builder about the diff. he says the new version is less tip stiff. if this is true the old ones were REALLY TIP STIFF as the new is touted as a very tip stiff shaft. i agree totally 03smurf,s assement of this shaft. you loose a few yards but you gain so much accuracy that you can really go after it and know its not likely to get away from you. until you try this shaft -you wont understand what we are saying about it . its so different from a regular graphite shaft. one thing i dont like is the feel is harsh and you dont get that feeling of the shaft unloading at impact and tru impact. but its hard to find fault when the ball goes straight down the fairway every time like its on a rope.

2 things jump right out when I used the BiMatrx :

1. Significantly lower trajectory
2. Overall club length ~1" shorter than graphite.

There can be welcoming change for many.

Torque ratings are funny because they aren't standardized (at least they weren't 3 years ago, last time I did any research in it). My personal favorite shaft is impossible to find anymore, I have one but its a.350 and the head I'm using now is .335. It's called the proforce V2 tour flight. The standard V2 feels similar but the performance was night and day for me. Played soft but went straight.

The new versions of the Bimatrix do not play anything like the original RXi, they are much more similar to the original Bimatrix Rocket. I am a low swing speed, smooth tempo guy and the new Bimatrix plays just fine to me. Definitely not a low launching or particularly tip stiff shaft.
