Weducation Help! pics inside

Hello Guys and Gals.... I have need of some help wedge wise...

 

Long story short ive switched from original 588 Cleveland to vokey sm5... I like the sm5 on full shots but having a bit of trouble pitching and chipping with my sw which has always been my club of choice for most around the green shots.. The sm5 is a 54 degree S grind bent to 55....The 588 is a 56 bent to 55.... pics show angle of sole on each .... The Cleveland wedge I literally cant miss with ....I play off Bermuda and of course its dormant now so anywhere you are into the grain you run the risk of grabbing and chunking it. The Vokey seems to want to do this no matter the lie... I can and have carried both and can pick the ball from anywhere with the 588...now I want to know why?

 

Can anyone post pics similar ( maybe better lol) than mine to show me the M grind or any others for a 56 or 54 sm5? also would be interested in any Cleveland rotex pics of the same, and maybe MD wedges as well....

 

I track all my stats and since swapping to sm5 4 months ago ive dropped sand saves 10% and up and down for par 25% ...that wont do! Im back to using the worn out 588 for now...but it suffers on 3/4 shots where you need it to hop and stop ...just doesn't have much zip left.... not trying to bash Vokey..I actually love them on full shots and will be keeping the pw..its just the sand wedge that doesn't fit me....any help will be greatly appreciated... im sure there is some guys here who know far more than me about leading edge , grinds, and bounce and can look at my pics and tell me whats up....In the one pic I drew some red lines to show what I see as the difference in the sole angle and leading edge

 

edit---- I can see that the pics I took are terrible..lol Ill do my best to post some better ones in a bit....also tried to remove the wrx watermark but its still there?

there are pics of all grinds on vokey website... you could always just walk your wedges into your nearest golf galaxy or golfsmith and compare to whatever vokey grind u r interested in. they usually have a bunch of demo wedges you could hit to compare to your current gamer.

I have a 54 & 58* M grind. Very versatile for me on all lies. Maybe it is because I play up north not on Bermuda grass? Not sure if that makes a diff. or not?

are you hitting it fat or getting pulls? feel like the face is shutting down?

thanks for the responses so far...unfortunately I don't have a major retailer any closer than an hour one way from me...I do have our local shop and the club I usually play from though..but haven't been able to see an M grind in either yet....I am by no means wanting this to be anti-vokey...I just have one that doesn't fit me personally...

on the indian questions ...I really wish I could point to that...I guess obviously im swinging it....but I guess my thinking is I don't want to alter the short game ive had for 17 years that works very well. id rather have a grind or wedge that suits what im used to if that makes sense....Definitely not shutting the face down as I play everything as a holdoff and start out face open ...I aim all chips and pitches slightly left as I usually get some fade spin (to the right if that didn't make sense ) on the first hop.. Now I can and have tried bringing the clubhead inside and rotating my hands at impact (pitches not chips) and I can execute that and get some draw spin if need be but just not my stock shot if you know what I mean... Its turf interaction after or at impact....It just grabs and that's the best way I can describe it... I noticed it the 1st ball I hit 4 months ago , but thought I needed to give it an honest go..well here I am and its a no go.... im going to look at thee M grind and some of the MD grinds and see how they compare...

I know what you are feeling. I had the same issue with the standard and F grind on the SM5 it felt like the heel of the wedge was grabbing. If you look at the pictures you posted the heel section of the Vokey is thicker and the area under the hosel does not have as much relief as the Cleveland. Going to the M grind helped me[attachment=2537105:weducation.jpg] as the grind created some relief in the heel of the club. You see a lot of the tour guys have that area ground on their wedges to help prevent that grabbing or hanging up feeling. Hope this helps.[attachment=2537117:weducation.jpg]

I have found c-grind wedges to work best from Bermuda.

[/quote] yup its a very similar grind to the M.. just one is Callaway and the other is Vokey
