What's your goal in 2015?

My goal is to drop from a 14 to a 10 handicap. chipping and approach game is my biggest issue right now and will be my area of focus.

 

I will begin studying for/taking the CPA exam as well, so that might be my biggest hurdle to lowering my handicap in the short term.

I remember studying for the CPA exam. Every night after work studying, and then on weekends. I would focus on passing the exam first. Play golf to take a break. Your career will thank you.

I prefer to use scores as opposed to handicap.
My goal is for my good rounds to go from 81-83 to 78-80 while getting my awful rounds to go from 90-93 to 85.

That said, I'm not really working on anything in particular so who knows where this improvement will come from.

As I asses this past year, it was a year of loss. Injury and operation and loss of playing time really hurt my scoring. I have three main goals for the upcoming season:

#1 recover and add strength and speed to my body

#2 Improve my 100 yard and in game..( this is my scoring area and I need to improve)

#3 Continue to remove the over the top move that invades my swing from time to time.

Measurable result to goals: HDC to 3, increase driver swing speed to 3-5 mph, and add 5 yards carry to my driving distance (verifies on track man (2014 #s 104ss +.50 AOA))

Optimise all my clubs. I've done shafts and swing weight but not lie - need to take a pile of clubs to a good club fitter and have all the lies adjusted.

I went from handicap of 12.8 to 11 this year. My goal next year is to get to single digit handicap. To do that I really need to step up my GIR and Up/Down ratios.

Measurable goals -
handicap wise get from 8.3 to 5.4. Its a tall order in one season, I'm prepared to put the work in but LOFT is an issue....
Win and individual club competition.
shoot a level par or better round. had plenty of under par 9's and a two over gross 18. so doable.

On are more esoteric level, I want to get more comfortable with my swing, get more to a stage that the basic parts match up and work together and I'm happy with the basics so there is a strong foundation that doesn't change, and I don't tinker or redo stuff as much.

I also like Jonesy's thoughts about getting more comfortable with my swing. I sick of hitting, for example, an 8-iron next to the pin from 135m/150y and thinking, "well a good golfer would have used a 9-iron".

This was my goal 2 years ago, minus the child part. I just hadn't had a chance to play in about 5 years. Played 2 events that summer, and played poorly, but loved being back in competition. I played a couple more this year and played pretty well, and am excited about 2015. As you know, tournament golf is different, in a good way. Good luck.

My goals for 2015 are simple: I want to lower my index from 12.0 to single digit and I want to break 80 from the blues at my home course.

Currently, I light up a cigar after any hole I score a 7 (or worse) and historically I smoke at least one cigar per round.... I guess my real goal is to stop smoking.

I came really close to breaking a scoring barrier. I want to break it more than once this year. Short game and putting will be key to this.

I made a small list of my golfing goals for 2015.

1. Shoot 5 rounds under par.
2. Birdie at least noce every hole at my course (36 holes)
3. Bring my hdc from a 2 to a 0.
4. Make more putts
5. More consistency in my long game.

To achieve these goals, I am taking a lesson (with GC2 system) every week during winter time and hitting the dome for 4h a week. I am also playing in my winter simulator golf league. Last but not least, I putt and chip for at least 1h per day at home.

I just became addicted to golf in October so I have a lot of room for improvement my goals for this year are

* make it to a 18 handicap

* become more consistent with my driver ( I only use it at the range now)

* improve putting, short game, and ball striking

* play and practice as much as possible

* take lessons

I'm going to get in better physical condition. Nothing crazy with weights, but better endurance and eating better.

I'm going to consistently work on my short game and putting each week instead of just hitting balls and ignoring those from week-to-week.

I'm going to work more on 'deliberate practice' (although I hate that word) on the range to acquire the more of the mechanics I'm looking to change in my swing more quickly.

Get my club head speed up to 112+ mph.

Get better at not missing left-to-right putts high and missing right-to-left putts low.
