What's your goal in 2015?

Gotta say, after playing this beautiful game for 25+ years and reaching stasis in my hc around 9-10, I'm not real hot on improving any more. My hc went from 7 about 10 yrs ago up to 12 a few years ago, but now that it came back and seems to have leveled off, I'm good.

So, my golf goals for '15 are to keep drawing breath and keep playing. That's it!

This was my goal 2 years ago, minus the child part. I just hadn't had a chance to play in about 5 years. Played 2 events that summer, and played poorly, but loved being back in competition. I am about 4 months into a 12 month lesson plan so continue to work with my coach and improve in all aspects.

My Goal for this year is to:

Returning to playing golf regular again as been unable to for last 2 years because of injury

Continuing to work on my game with lessons from long term coach DFW1500 and practice to improve my current handicap of 7

maintaining worth ethic in the gym at least 3 -4 days a week to improve general fitness and health

Complete P90x3 Course along with insanity workouts at home
( as done day one today will be completed ready for start of season comps)

I don't really have a score goal or handicap goal. I want to cut all my slices off the planet out of my game. I want to keep all balls in play. I usually only have problems with my longer clubs (driver, 3wood). Then I also want to work on my putting. I am no where near the level you guys on here play at but I'm working on it.

Its hard to narrow it down to specific goals as generally I just want to get better. But the specific ones I want to improve are:

[*]Improve my ballstriking with my irons. Consistency (both ballflight and distance) are the keys here.
[*]Get my distance/power back. Ive always had compact swing that tends to generate decent power but I've lost 10-12 yds it seems and feel like Im trying to swing bigger/harder to keep up.
[*]Really improve the 80-120 yd approach shots. This is where I seem to struggle in scoring and lose shots instead of gaining them.
[*]Finally: take a lesson. The first three goals will come with this one. I haven't taken a bonafide lesson from a pro in nearly ten years. I hope to change that with a good teacher this year.

the reason I got back into golf was because of something I added to my bucket list.

I want to be competitive at my local club championship. It'll take even par or better.

Whether or not that happens in 2015 we'll see. Fairways and GIR's boys

Looking to cut handicap down to 12, further if I can. Last year I managed to short out my driving and now playing a consistant fade, so hitting a lot more FIR. Would like to break the next mile stones this year too, at least once would be nice. Looking to break 85 and 80 would be the two too tick off, and become a consistant high 80's shooter.

My goals have suddenly changed for 2015. Originally wanted to work on my game and compete in our club championship gross flight. Really wanted to break par. Now just want to recover and be able to play by this summer. Donated my left kidney to brother-in-law last week and not sure how long recovery will be. I can't imagine swinging the way my abdomen feels. Either I'll learn a bunch lurking on wrx or just confuse myself to death mind rehearsal swinging. Too much down time on my hands

If I have another year like 2014 I'll be happy! I have been working more on my short game, especially putting. I changed my putting stroke to help me on faster greens since our course converted to the new Bermuda. I qualified and played in my first state mid-am this past summer and just recently won my second club "individual gross match play" event in three years.

I guess my goal would be to make the cut in the state mid-am if I qualify again or if I don't play make the cut in the local county amateur.

Dropping scoring average from 77 to 75 or under. Break par in 25% of my rounds. Last year I was under par about 8-10% of the time.

Well I made it to +3 last year, it slipped a bit towards the end of the year but still hanging on to it at +2.5
So my goals are
1. Maintain and improve on my +3 ( for a full time worker that's not bad!)
2. Better my current low score of -7 (that could be a big ask)
3. Learn how to hit the driver of the deck

I plan to work on mainly 100 yards and in as I think this is realistically what is going to help me get to number 1&2. I'm good of the tee in that I keep it on play and I strike it fairly solid and hit a good number of greens. I give my self plenty of opportunitys and birdie but just don't make enough. I have been working hard on the putting in the off season and took aim point express so I hope things will improve next season!

Plan to focus on two areas in 2015

1) Improve lag putting

2) Work on tee-ball shot-shape to hit more fairways

Worst scores in 2014 involved some combination of 3 putting, and/or occasional big miss with tee shot

Hoping to go from a 10 to a 5 by January '16. Broke 80 more times last year than I had in all my previous years of playing golf combined. Basically comes down to consistency from round to round and practicing my putting A LOT. Recently signed up for a year membership to an indoor golf center that opened in my town last year. Huge putting complex with realistic green speeds. Also each hitting bay has a foresight gc2 and big screen with a mouse where you can save all your shots and get data after every swing. Sure beats practice swinging in your room using your bathroom mirror!

Play 80 rounds of golf, I think last year I played 40 rounds.
Get better from 125 yards and in.
3 rounds in the 60s.
Maybe start playing tournament golf again.

2) Break 100 25% of the time (Right now, generally shoot between 100-105)
3) Enjoy EVERY shot I hit
4) Play a round at Pacific Dunes (specifically 12:00 Noon tee time on January 20)
5) Practice times a week for at least 45 minutes (good on this one so far!)
