What's the most outrageous story you've heard on GolfWRX?

I've not seen this topic before, and hopefully it will bring out some fun stories.

 

My vote is for the guy in the Pacifc NW who:

- has no official handicap

- plays at a course where the tips are 5,200 yards

- is convinced he could show up at a PGA event and win in any given week

- dares anyone to question this belief

An interesting question and one to which I can't really respond. There are so many claims made on WRX that stretch the imagination but without knowing the person, it is hard to definitively dismiss these statements as utter balderdash.

The craziest stories are probably in the deal/no deal section or the BST..where the gripes with sellers come up. There's always cases of guys selling stuff and then dissapearing , guys tracking them down and trying to shame them, excuses being made etc...There's been a few truly epic ones over the years.

There was a member here who rarely posts anymore, but claimed to be a pro or at least a super talented kid dreaming of being a pro , though it was fairly disputed by several people who basically accused him of lying about everything. Some of those threads got really really weird. It's possible the guy was just posting pictures , and pretending to have sponsors

Another of my all time favorite threads was the former mini tour guy turned coach who posted here for only like 1 thread, we were kind of tough on, but he just flipped out on everyone. He kept calling me small fry and said he would consume me for breakfast...remember him?

The other day he was a first responder as well but for an agency that doesn't exist anymore. I guess it was too covert and the government nixed the program, so he just moved on and became a billionaire running a mix of small businesses and large corporations at the same time.
