There's one guy here who...
..stripes his two iron 220 yards and has yet to miss a fairway or green with it
..has mastered many martial arts
..was a secret ops special agent with beret training
..belongs to several clubs so exclusive you couldn't dream of stepping foot on them
..has started and still owns several multimillion dollar companies
..has degrees in Psychology, Physics and many other sciences mostly at the Doctoral level
..shot a 77 using only a lob wedge
..can work any club, any way, at will, and without error
..manages thousands of dedicated employees, all of who would lay down their lives for the master
..has a smoking hot wife mere mortals can only dream of
..couldn't differentiate between "loose" and "lose" if his life depended on it
..has suffered through and conquered ADD, dyslexia and many other ailments that would bring lesser men to their knees
..is over 60 but has the body, stamina and endurance and mental abilities of men half his age
..has played rounds with "many" touring pros who have all admired his game
..has caused more readers to roll their eyes than any other poster on the Internet
Yes, this man exists. And he exist here.

I think the best part is that he himself truly believes that others reading his musings respect and admire him for his majestic feats. If you're a "regular" member here, you probably know of whom which I speak.

He is a legend in his own mind.

I've not seen this topic before, and hopefully it will bring out some fun stories.

My vote is for the guy in the Pacifc NW who:
- has no official handicap
- plays at a course where the tips are 5,200 yards
- is convinced he could show up at a PGA event and win in any given week
- dares anyone to question this belief

That Slicefixer would write and publish a book......

You forgot race car driver

The fellas that claim to play 18 in an hour and half, is one I always have trouble with.

That is moving. I am not sure I believe it either. I grew up on a Donald Ross course, without long green to next tee walks. Playing as a twosome one morning and walking the best we did was 2 hours and 10 minutes. We didn't try to play fast, we both hit the ball really well. I shot 74 and I think the other shot 75, no lost balls, nothing really deep in the trees. Playing a course that was built for walking helped, I bet if we had taken carts it would have been a bit slower.

Hitting the ball well and scoring like you did means you were keeping the ball very much in play and likely in the fairway. Playing that way the cart is going to save you substantial time. Because you're simply going directly from point A to point B without all the delays from ball hunting. The cart is going to move you down the fairways much faster than you can walk it.

The cart moves faster than we walk, yes we agree there. However you go to one ball and then to the other. While we never lost a ball and only hit a couple in the edge of the trees, we were never close to each other hitting our second shots. If we were both in our own cart I would agree. When walking, you each go to your own ball and walk off the distance as you get to your ball and then hit the ball. On an old school Donald Ross course two people playing the same whether in a cart or walking, they will play faster walking. Not a lot faster, but it will be faster. I saw it my whole life growing up on that course.

On today's courses, even ones not in the middle of a neighborhood, the tees and greens are much farther apart, and a cart will always be faster all other things equal.
