I've heard it's an ultra-competitive men's club. From what I was told, based on your 4 handicap, you would probably be closer to the bottom of the Championship flight than the top.

Between skiing and my kids' gymnastics meets, I won't be able to get out on the course (for the first time this season) until next weekend. And I only have time for 9 holes.

I have booked tee times at Haymaker in Steamboat over Memorial Day weekend for a "fathers' afternoon out" since we're all going up there for our daughters' gymnastics meet. So that'll be fun.

This snow is ruining our men's league mod stableford scheduled for this sat. was to be our second league tourney of the year. even if it does take place it's going to be miserable...bummer.

We're supposed to play 36 tomorrow for my buddies going away (moving to Germany) but not it's going to happen. AND my MGA was supposed have our first outing of the year on Saturday. Agree with cphrey that is' going to be tough out there....

I moved here from Charlotte a few months back and transferred my membership from TPC Piper Glen to Blackstone/BlackBear.

The 460/month dues w/ everything included is a great deal. I have a lifetime membership (no dues/cart/greens/locker/range fees ever) at Piper (family had bought equity into the club before ClubCorp bought them) and unfortunately couldn't transfer the privileges, but they were able to transfer some benefits which was awesome.

I'm a + handicap and was happy to hear that there are over 100 players at our club with under a 5 handicap, makes the weekend games great!

Welcome to Colorado! Sounds like at Black Bear and Blackstone you'll fit right. I know a couple guys that are members that mostly play Blackstone. Really fun course.

Ended up getting out yesterday and it was actually really nice all day. Had to dress warm but it was a pretty day, good times. Had the hooks bad, shot 83 with 4 doubles...ugh.

And from what I heard, Saturday would have been just fine for our mens league tourney. Lots of upset members at the course yesterday wondering why we didn't play. Gotta wait until the last minute to call these things in Denver, we all know how fast the weather changes, and it sure did, melting everything by sat morning. Course was wet but not drenched, could've allowed carts and held the tourney. Hopefully a learning experience for the new board members that called it on Friday afternoon...

I got to play it sunday for the first time - it is a great track. Was a little chilly, but I'm excited to play it when the weather gets good!

Ha, nothing wrong with nine at Family Fun Center as my buddy calls it. That course redeems my need for 5 wedges. If it's truly a wet mess on Sunday you might just have it to yourselves

Wet n' wild yesterday. Surprisingly, we weren't the only group out on the course. Shot +6 including a triple and birdie. I'll chalk it up as a win since this was my first time out on a course in 6 1/2 months--not to mention all of the rain gear I had to wear.
